The Air Force Development Unit Air Combat (UTV Luft) is recruiting GSS/K to the Air Force Experiment Office

Do you want the opportunity to help develop the Air Force's capabilities for the future? Within the framework of the Air Force's innovation system, the Air Combat School's development unit air combat (UTV Luft) runs the Air Force's experiment office. UTV Luft is now looking for a driven and innovative GSS. As a GSS, you will play an important role in the development of the Air Force's future capabilities, and you will work in a team consisting of qualified civilian and military personnel.

Short about the unit UTV LUFT

To maintain the Air Force's operational capability, the air combat forces' operational units require continuous development both in the short and long term. UTV LUFT belongs to the Air Combat School (LSS) and carries out the Air Force's capability development regarding technology, tactics, and methods for all of the Air Force's units and functions. The activity spans from materiel development to concept development to capability introduction at the operational units.

Applicant section:

The Air Force Experiment Office supports the entire Air Force with development and innovation, and is located under LSS UTVLUFT. The activity at the Experiment Office aims for the Air Force to be able to analyze and coordinate capability needs in a faster and more efficient way, and then to carry out realizability tests primarily in a digital environment and practically to translate experiences into new functions, materiel, and capabilities.

Job responsibilities:

As a Group Leader/Soldier/Sailor (GSS) at the Experiment Office, you are part of a group of approximately 10 employees consisting of both civilian and military permanent staff as well as consultants, and you are subordinate to the head of the Experiment Office.

Your role is to participate in and support the experimental activity in both physical and digital environments. You are part of the practical implementation; you participate in the construction and execution of experiments, handle equipment and test environments, and contribute your operational experience as a reference when new concepts and tactics are tested. In the digital dimension, you work with simulation tools and virtual environments to test and evaluate capabilities before they are implemented in reality. In the physical dimension, you participate in practical trials and demonstrations in the field.

The role suits you if you want to be where the action is, not as a spectator but as an active part of the Air Force's capability development, and if you enjoy moving between screens and firing ranges.

The role includes among other things:

  • Participation in the planning and execution of experiments in both digital and physical environments
  • Handling and operation of equipment and test materials during practical trials
  • Configuration and operation of digital simulation environments
  • Documentation of experimental results and observations
  • Internal coordination with the Air Force's units and functions

Qualifications:

  • Completed conscription, GMU, or equivalent military basic training in the Swedish Armed Forces in the near future with a passing grade
  • Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
  • Good computer skills, especially within Microsoft Office
  • Category B driver's license (manual)

Personal qualities:

To thrive in the role, we believe you are a person who takes responsibility and likes to get things to work. As a person, you are proactive and structured. You are cooperative, a team player who supports others and contributes to the whole. We also see that you are solution-oriented and both thrive and have the prerequisites to serve in varied environments. You share the Armed Forces' value base and are motivated by contributing to a larger context.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
