About the Unit
The Air Staff supports the Commander of the Air Force in leading the air combat forces, including all wings and schools within the Swedish Air Force across all levels of the conflict scale. The Air Staff in Uppsala has a coordination section which includes a Staff Expedition (STEX). The Staff Expedition plays a central role in handling and distributing large volumes of incoming and outgoing cases and tasks daily across various case management systems. Both military and civilian personnel work at the Staff Expedition.
We are looking for a Staff Assistant who can support managers and staff officers in distributing and following up on cases and tasks within the Air Staff, as well as working with other administrative tasks related to the Air Staff and the Swedish Air Force.
About the Position
As a Staff Assistant at the Staff Expedition, your primary responsibility will be to distribute and follow up on cases and tasks in various command systems. You will represent the unit in connection with internal and external meetings, where you may occasionally be expected to manage technology – such as different types of video conferencing – and take minutes. You will support the section and the Air Staff during visits and other types of events. Together with your colleagues, you are expected to participate in various forums aimed at developing the Staff Expedition service at the Air Staff. You will have dedicated and competent colleagues to help you, and there are good opportunities for onboarding into the role.

- Support for managers and staff officers in other administrative tasks.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Completed Swedish conscription, GMU (General Military Training), or equivalent military education with a passing grade
- Good ability to express yourself in Swedish and English, both orally and in writing
- Good computer skills with a special focus on the Office package, but also the ability to learn new systems
- Category B driver's license (manual transmission).

We are looking for someone who is responsible, structured, and meticulous. As a Staff Assistant, it is required that you are results-oriented and have the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. You need to have an aptitude for learning new working methods and technologies, as well as good oral and written communication skills. We are looking for someone who can work both in a team and independently. It is important that you are a good representative of the Swedish Armed Forces and stand by their core values. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Meritorious Qualifications
- Conscription (or equivalent) as a Staff Assistant/Staff Soldier
- Experience working in an administrative function/role
- Experience with similar tasks within the Swedish Armed Forces or another Swedish authority
- Experience working in the systems VIDAR, SWECCIS, and TAKTIL.
Other Information
Employment type: Fixed-term for up to eight years (GSS/K). The Swedish Armed Forces apply a six-month probationary period for those not already employed by the authority.
Start date: Preliminarily September/October 2026, exact time upon agreement.
Work location: Uppsala
Scope: 100%
Salary: Individual salary setting applies, reference starting salary 27,000–28,000 SEK/month.
Working hours: Mainly Monday-Friday 08:00-16:30. Training and exercises may involve limited periods of irregular and inconvenient working hours, including occasional weekend duty. Occasional business travel to other locations within Sweden may occur.

The Air Staff develops, plans, executes, and evaluates orders and directives issued by the Commander of the Air Force. The Air Staff consists of approximately 350 employees.
