About the Position

The Intelligence and Security Division (A2) leads the intelligence and security function within the Air Force. The main task is to support the Chief of the Air Force and the rest of the Air Staff with situational awareness, warning, and other decision-making support. The division functionally leads subordinate units regarding intelligence and security services at all readiness levels.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop within intelligence and security services, specifically in the cyber domain, alongside others. The work consists of interesting and varied tasks at a higher tactical command level. The position also includes opportunities for personal development through participation in exercises, method and development work, as well as general and function-specific competence development. The cyber domain is one of the Swedish Armed Forces' priority areas, and you will participate in an activity that is developing rapidly. You will be a key part of the Air Force's construction of cyber defense, as well as defending, operating, and training in the cyber domain.

Main Responsibilities

• Support the Head of the Intelligence and Security Division with knowledge within the cyber domain
• Support the Intelligence and Security Division with monitoring the security situation, incident handling, and security investigations
• Participate in the work of detecting threats, identifying, and preventing attacks against the Air Force's command support systems
• Support the Air Staff in the development of the Air Force's cyber defense and command systems
• Participate in the Intelligence and Security Division's production of reports and decision-making support materials
• Collaborate with other parts of the Swedish Armed Forces and actors regarding cyber defense

Requirements

Qualifications

• Completed conscription as a Cyber Soldier
• Good knowledge of IT and network technology
• Knowledge of attacking and defending IT systems
• Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
• Category B driver's license

Personal Qualities

The Air Staff works with operational activities, which requires personnel to be able to:

• Handle rapidly arising tasks and changing situations
• Work independently and sometimes with insufficient decision-making support
• Handle tasks with short timeframes
• Be proactive and drive the activity forward
• Be flexible and able to step outside one's own area of responsibility to solve assigned tasks

Merits

• Education, knowledge, and experience within intelligence and security services
• Knowledge of logging and analysis at the application level
• Knowledge of technical security functions (IPS, IDS, SIEM, UEBA, etc.)
• Previous service in the Swedish Armed Forces
• Experience handling classified information
• Experience and knowledge of the Swedish Armed Forces' IT systems
• IT security-related certifications

Other

Employment type: Fixed-term employment according to the GSS/K agreement, maximum 8 + 4 years.

Employment level: Full-time

The position involves working irregular hours as well as longer continuous work shifts during, for example, exercises and operations, sometimes at other workplaces without the possibility of going home.

Information about the Swedish Armed Forces and the recruiting unit: The Air Staff's primary and largest task is to support the Chief of the Air Force in leading all air wings and schools in the Air Force at all levels of the conflict scale. The Air Staff develops, plans, executes, and evaluates orders and directives issued by the Chief of the Air Force. The Air Staff consists of approximately 350 employees. The Air Force organizes and trains air, base, and command units and has the task of monitoring and protecting Swedish airspace. This is a 24/7, year-round mission to ensure Sweden's integrity. Approximately 5,100 employees, both civilian and military, work within the Air Force.
