Resident Doctor at Orthopedic Clinic, Mälarsjukhuset, Eskilstuna
About Us
Region Sörmland is one of the largest employers in the county with approximately 8,000 employees. The Orthopedic Clinic in Eskilstuna/Katrineholm assesses and treats diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system. Our operations include, among other things, prosthetic surgery, trauma surgery, shoulder, hand, foot, and back surgery, as well as arthroscopic surgery. We have 23 consultants/specialists and 12 specialty trainee doctors (ST-doctors) working here. Additionally, 7–8 general practice trainee doctors (AT-doctors) are continuously placed at the clinic. The clinic also includes administrative, reception, and ward units with a total of approximately 100 employees.
Your Responsibilities
As a resident doctor, you will primarily work on the ward and in the emergency department in close collaboration with nurses and other physicians. Here, you are given the opportunity to grow and develop in your medical role. The work is independent but supported by supervision from experienced colleagues.
Your Qualifications
We prefer that you have a medical license issued by the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen), alternatively a medical degree from Sweden or another Nordic country, or a decision from the National Board of Health and Welfare to complete general practice training. For medical students studying at a Swedish faculty, it is required that you have completed studies up to and including the ninth semester with approved courses and exams in the specialty for which you are applying. If you are studying in another EU country, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Switzerland, you must have completed studies up to and including the ninth semester with approved courses and exams.
We also require knowledge of the Swedish language equivalent to Swedish upper secondary school or Swedish C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale, in both speech and writing. Experience from Swedish healthcare is an advantage. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
