The Mission

As Production Process Development Engineer within Conversion, you will become a key technical contributor in bridging advanced process development and industrial implementation. You will work closely with the R&D organization and Senior Process Development Engineer, acting both as a technical sparring partner and a driving force in bringing development projects into stable production environments.

This is a highly hands-on senior engineering role where you are expected to work close to machinery, production equipment, and implementation activities while also contributing strategically to long-term process development and industrial scaling.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Driving development and improvement of roll-to-roll conversion processes
• Translating R&D concepts and prototype solutions into robust production-ready processes
• Working closely with machinery and equipment to identify, troubleshoot, and solve process-related issues
• Leading implementation and industrialization activities together with R&D, production engineering, and project management
• Driving machine-related improvements, including lamination systems and conversion equipment
• Procuring, commissioning, and qualifying new production equipment, including FAT/SAT activities
• Defining process windows, monitoring strategies, and quality controls to ensure stable yield and production performance
• Driving structured process changes, implementation activities, and follow-up work
• Supporting scale-up activities and ensuring successful transfer from development into production
• Acting as a technical bridge between development, production engineering, and Operations

The role carries significant technical responsibility and influence. You will also play an important role in driving process and production development forward. For the right candidate, there is also long-term potential to take on broader leadership responsibilities within the conversion engineering organization.

Who are we looking for?

You are a highly experienced professional with a strong technical foundation and a proven track record of delivering impactful process improvements. Specifically, you bring:

• A Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemical Engineering, or similar
• Extensive experience in production process development and industrialization
• Experience transferring development projects into production environments
• Proven track record of long-term process improvements and implementation projects
• Experience from process industry, manufacturing, or production-oriented R&D environments
• Experience within roll-to-roll manufacturing as well as deep technological knowledge and a solid understanding of different tools and processes
• Strong project- and self-leadership skills

As a person, you are structured, self-driven, collaborative, and technically curious. You enjoy working cross-functionally and can navigate between development and production realities while creating robust and sustainable solutions.
