Do you want to work in a group with a good team spirit and strong support from managers and colleagues? Are you passionate about working for a better environment and a long-term sustainable society? Then the position of Laboratory Technician at SGS might be for you!
About the role
Every analysis performed has meaning and is part of a story: From whether drinking water is safe to drink; whether our lakes are safe to swim in; whether a land area is safe to build on or needs remediation first. Do you want to help protect public health and contribute to finding answers for our customers?
On our preparation department, samples are prepared and finalized before analysis. This is mainly done through sample splitting and processing in various processes to convert solid materials into analytical extracts. The main responsibility at night is to handle the various express samples that arrive in the evening and ensure they are prepared for our analyzing departments so that our customers receive the results the following day. We do this with a great sense of pride and always with a high focus on quality and delivery reliability through well-established routines. In addition to express samples, we handle samples that come in and follow our flow with normal response times. There is a good atmosphere and team spirit in the work group; here we help each other to solve a common task, we have an open dialogue and place great value on good employee relations.
Within the group, there are good opportunities for development over time, through training in new tasks within the department's area of responsibility. You will be introduced by your assigned mentor who, together with you, is responsible for your training.
Your profile
You enjoy collaborating in a group as well as performing tasks independently. You show interest and understanding for other people. You have good decision-making skills and take responsibility for your work tasks. You can take initiative and actively find improvement opportunities in your work. You have good ability to follow instructions and work according to the company's guidelines. You are calm as a person and work in a structured and efficient manner even under higher workload. You have good ability to plan and structure your work and enjoy working with set timeframes. You have good self-awareness and enjoy both giving and receiving feedback, seeing this as a tool for personal development. You think it is important to meet customer requirements and needs and are quality-conscious in your work. You believe that having an open dialogue is important, say what you mean and stand by it. You are flexible as a person and understand prioritization based on the current production situation.
