Stegra is on a mission to change the global steel industry by producing green hydrogen, iron, and steel - with the goal of eliminating CO₂ emissions. Instead of coal, we use green hydrogen and fossil-free electricity, meaning our primary emissions will be water and heat.

By 2030, our ambition is to produce 5 million tonnes of green steel annually at our fully integrated, digitized, and sustainable plant in Boden, Northern Sweden, currently under construction. But this is just the beginning. Our expertise in green hydrogen will enable us to decarbonize industries beyond steel, paving the way for a cleaner future.

What you’ll do

We are currently seeking an Electrical Lead for our Engineering team. In this role, you will report to our Head of Engineering and sit within our Project Delivery function. The team is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality engineering solutions across the Boden project.

The Electrical Lead is responsible for leading and overseeing electrical engineering and design activities across the project. The role ensures that electrical systems and technical solutions are delivered safely, efficiently, and according to project requirements, standards, budget, and schedule. The role also manages and coordinates EPCM engineering partners to support integrated project execution.

Key responsibilities (not limited to)

  • Lead and oversee electrical engineering and design activities across the project.
  • Manage and coordinate EPCM engineering partners within the electrical scope.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, regulations, and technical requirements.
  • Drive engineering quality, consistency, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support the development of engineering strategies, concepts, and technical solutions.
  • Establish and maintain engineering standards, procedures, and ways of working.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional delivery teams to support integrated project execution.
  • Deliver engineering scope according to project schedule, budget, and quality targets.
  • Support planning, execution, and coordination activities across engineering disciplines and stakeholders.
  • Monitor engineering progress, identify risks, and support mitigation activities.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout engineering and project delivery activities.

Education and Certifications

Relevant degree in electrical engineering or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

Experience

  • Extensive experience in major industrial capital projects.
  • Experience managing electrical engineering activities in large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working with EPCM engineering partners and contractors.

Competences and Skills

  • Strong technical knowledge of industrial electrical systems.
  • Strong understanding of engineering standards, technical requirements, and change management processes.
  • Ability to manage engineering coordination and stakeholder collaboration in complex project environments.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Experience in project planning, execution, and delivery coordination.
