We are now looking for a Strategic Buyer for a long-term assignment with a global industrial company specializing in technologically advanced products and complex supply chains. This role is ideal for you if you want to combine business acumen, technical understanding, and strategic purchasing in an international environment.
About the Assignment
As a Strategic Buyer, you are responsible for parts of the supplier base and work on developing long-term collaborations with both existing and new suppliers. The role entails overall responsibility where you drive sourcing activities, negotiate contracts, and actively work on supplier development to ensure quality, delivery performance, and cost efficiency.
You work closely with several internal functions such as engineering, production, project management, and operational purchasing, which means the role requires both strong collaboration skills and a sharp business focus.
In addition to daily purchasing tasks, you are expected to contribute to improvement initiatives and the development of processes within purchasing and supplier management.
Key Responsibilities
- Be responsible for and develop parts of the supplier base
- Drive sourcing and tendering activities
- Negotiate contracts, price lists, and commercial terms
- Ensure supplier performance regarding quality, cost, and delivery
- Support tactical and operational purchasing in supplier-related matters
- Work cross-functionally with engineering, projects, and production
- Identify and drive improvement and efficiency initiatives
- Manage risks and contribute to long-term purchasing strategies
Who We Are Looking For
- Experience in strategic purchasing or sourcing within industry or technology-related operations
- Good proficiency in supplier management and supplier development
- Experience in negotiation and commercial work
- Strong analytical skills and good knowledge of Excel
- Technical understanding and the ability to grasp complex products or processes
- Ability to work systematically and drive activities independently
- Good communication skills in Swedish and English
It is an advantage if you have experience with international supply chains, working in ERP systems, and project-oriented purchasing environments.
