About the Department

Adult Psychiatry in Dalarna is a consolidated specialist service belonging to the Division of Psychiatry and Habilitation within the Health and Medical Care sector. The psychiatric clinic in Avesta is one of the clinics in Dalarna offering psychiatric specialist care to the adult population in Avesta. The clinic has broad specialist psychiatric competence with different professional groups working in a cross-professional manner, and we now wish to strengthen the team with psychologists. There is an established collaboration with inpatient psychiatry, municipalities, other healthcare providers, and other societal actors. Staff also meet occasionally with other psychologists in the area. Avesta offers proximity to lakes, beautiful nature, and culture, where you can enjoy hiking, skiing, and cycling.

Job Responsibilities

Our mission is to investigate, diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate patients with severe psychiatric conditions, with the goal of achieving good health and a high quality of life. The patient groups we encounter have various psychiatric conditions such as psychosis and bipolar disorder, neuropsychiatric disabilities, PTSD, as well as severe depression and anxiety disorders. Within the psychologist group, there is broad competence, allowing you to focus on your area of interest, e.g., assessment, a specific treatment method, or patient group. We have competence in trauma treatment and conduct various group therapies. There is an opportunity to start several group therapy sessions. The department offers further education, supervision, and professional meetings that provide good opportunities for development. Depending on the department's needs and your own competence, various forms of development work may become relevant.

We work structured around conferences.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist and primarily work with assessments.
  • A driver's license is required as travel for work purposes occurs.

Merits:

  • Specialist training in neuropsychology
  • Experience with complex psychiatric issues
  • Experience in assessment, as the majority of the position will be directed towards this.

Personal Qualities:

You are expected to have good teamwork skills as the work consists of team collaboration; you must also be able to work independently, be flexible, handle changes, and make decisions.
