About the Unit

The Forensic Psychiatric Clinic in Säter is responsible for highly specialized care at the county, regional, and national levels. We primarily treat patients under the Forensic Psychiatric Care Act, as well as patients who fall ill during ongoing penal care or while in pre-trial detention. In total, we have 78 care beds distributed across seven wards staffed with experienced nurses and care assistants.

Nurses and care assistants work together in care teams and collaborate with the clinic's treatment team, including social workers, psychologists, addiction therapists, and doctors.

Responsibilities

We work to provide patients with skills that promote recovery.

There is a clear structure for how care and treatment should look for patients at the clinic. Care and treatment are in focus. We work closely with the patient and therefore need to be able to receive and handle various emotional expressions such as anxiety, worry, joy, and anger. An important part of the job is to see the person behind the crime, observing and motivating/supporting the patient to maintain a functional daily life. Documentation and reports. Conversations and assessments. Various activities. Daily life should be functional, and this work includes having various responsibilities such as the kitchen, serving meals during the day, storage, orders, and some cleaning. We should be adult role models and be able to give patients various skills that lead to discharge from the clinic to housing and other interventions via the municipality and outpatient care.

The wards have routines for continuous monitoring of where patients are and conduct daily safety assessments.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who

• have a degree from the Care and Nursing Program, Vocational Higher Education (YH) in Care Assistant in Psychiatric Operations (400 credits), or equivalent relevant education.

Meritorious:

• experience of psychiatric care

We are looking for you who have good collaboration skills and want to work in a team where the patient is an integral member. We would like you to be interested in working with care and treatment interventions for patients. Personal suitability is given great weight.
