Are you a dentist passionate about patient interaction and eager to develop your work with children and adolescent dental care? We are now looking for a qualifying dentist and give you the chance to become part of our team at the Pediatric Dentistry Department in Falun.

Specialist Dental Care Manhem is a county-wide operation for specialist dental care within the fields of endodontics, oral prosthetics, orthodontics, periodontology, and pedodontics. A dental technology laboratory is also located in the same building.

More than 50 people work at the clinic: dental nurses, orthodontic assistants, dental hygienists, assistant dentists, qualifying dentists, specialist dentists, as well as sterile and reception staff. The Pediatric Dentistry Department receives referrals from general dental care and healthcare. On our department, we work with children and adolescents aged 0–19 years with various forms of disability, serious general illnesses, complex dental trauma, dentoalveolar surgery, pronounced dental anxiety/treatment complications, severe dental disease, and dental developmental disorders. We provide all forms of specialized children's and adolescent dental care with a long-term perspective and the patient in focus.

At Pediatric Dentistry, we regularly perform treatments under sedation and anesthesia. We have observing dental staff from general dental care and dental nursing students on internship. We supervise dental nurses, dental hygienists, and dentists from general dental care, conduct clinic visits, and organize courses for general dental care.

The position involves a permanent appointment as a dentist at a general dental clinic, as well as a 50 percent temporary position as a qualifying dentist in pedodontics in Falun for six months, with the possibility of extension or until the permanent holder returns to work. If you are not yet employed by Folktandvården Dalarna, you will be offered a permanent position at a general dental clinic in Falun.

As a qualifying dentist in pedodontics, you will work with dental treatment under midazolam and nitrous oxide sedation, simpler investigations under the supervision of a specialist dentist, and emergency dental care during daytime for pedodontics.

Your duties include literature reviews and seminars, as well as participation in the teaching we offer to general dental care.

Requirements:

• Licensed dentist
• At least two years of experience in general dental care
• Training in sedation with midazolam and nitrous oxide
• Experience working with children and adolescents
• Fluency in Swedish, both spoken and written

Merits:

• Completed diploma courses in pedodontics
• Previous experience working at a pediatric dental clinic
• Experience working as a child-specialist dentist at a public dental clinic
