At Region Dalarna, you will find meaningful work where you can make a difference. Together, we work towards a sustainable Dalarna with development potential in all parts of the county.
About the DepartmentImaging and Functional Medicine in Ludvika is looking for a Section Manager for CT (Sektionsledare DT).
In southern Dalarna, you will find Ludvika Hospital, a smaller county hospital with proximity to nature, lakes, and opportunities for an active outdoor lifestyle. It is within a comfortable travel distance to cities such as Borlänge/Falun and Västerås.
Röntgen Ludvika is a department handling both acute and scheduled examinations and is part of Imaging and Functional Medicine Dalarna. Currently, we staff computed tomography (Philips) and conventional labs (GE and Siemens) with close collaboration with the ward, the urgent care unit at Ludvika Hospital, and the health centers in the Västerbergslagen region.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Section Manager here, you play a key role in ensuring high quality and patient safety. In close consultation with the section's responsible physician and the first-line manager, you lead and coordinate daily operations. Your focus is on optimizing workflows by matching patient needs with employees' unique competencies – not just locally, but with a holistic perspective on the entire region's healthcare capacity.
As Section Manager, you step into a central role where your main focus is to create a safe and efficient care chain with the patient's needs at the center. Your responsibilities range from daily operational management to a strategic county-wide perspective. This means you not only optimize resources for your own section but actively work to ensure that the county's resources are used in the best possible way. By prioritizing referrals and collaborating with other reception centers and wards in the county, you contribute to a balanced workload and ensure that every patient receives care at the appropriate level.
In your role, you are responsible for quality and method development. You ensure that our working methods align with regional guidelines and are responsible for ensuring that the method book is a living document that is constantly updated and followed. In case of deviations, you lead improvement work with a steady hand and actively drive the introduction of new technology and knowledge that benefits both the department and the region as a whole. A large part of your assignment involves building a strong culture and securing future competence.
You plan, together with the manager, onboarding for new employees and students, and are responsible for knowledge transfer when the Section Manager changes. By being personally present in your communication regarding news and decisions, you create involvement and security. You advocate for professional treatment and a good working environment where colleagues thrive and patients feel well cared for.
Finally, you have overall responsibility for the section's physical conditions. This includes everything from securing access to medicines and materials to leading needs analyses and defining requirements when procuring new medical technology equipment. You ensure that safety regulations and laws are followed, and that premises and aids are used in a way that prevents illness and accidents, so that your section is always a safe place for both staff and patients.
The position is full-time, permanent employment in your primary profession with a 1–3-year appointment as Section Manager for CT. Your working hours are initially scheduled during the day, but shifts including days, evenings, and weekends in radiology may become relevant.
