About the Role
Do you have several years of experience leading maintenance or asset management functions within electricity grids, railways, or other society-critical infrastructure? Are you passionate about developing working methods and driving change towards more data-driven and predictive maintenance?
We are now looking for a manager who wants to take a key role in the development of Vattenfall Eldistribution's long-term maintenance planning – with direct impact on one of Sweden's most important energy systems.
Responsibilities
As Head of Department for Asset Maintenance Planning, you lead the development of our tactical and long-term maintenance work. You are responsible for ensuring that the right measures are carried out at the right time – with a clear focus on risk, criticality, and lifecycle optimization.
You will step into a context where working methods, structure, and roles continue to develop. The role therefore involves a clear change mandate: to further develop our capability from traditional planning to a more data-driven, predictive, and value-optimized way of working.
You lead a highly competent department and are part of the unit's management team.
Your Impact – You Make a Difference By
- Developing and implementing maintenance strategies that strengthen the grid's availability and supply security.
- Increasing the share of preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Creating structure for efficient follow-up with relevant KPIs.
- Ensuring that maintenance and investments are optimized from a lifecycle perspective.
- Building a modern and cohesive capability within asset management.
You Are Responsible For:
- Leading, developing, and engaging your department towards clear goals and strong teamwork.
- Setting direction and structure for long-term maintenance planning.
- Developing and monitoring KPIs that drive the right balance between preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Driving the development of working methods, tools, and governing documents within maintenance.
- Ensuring efficient tactical planning and optimization of maintenance efforts.
You collaborate broadly within the organization, especially with functions within operations, asset performance, information management, and grid communication.
Requirements
We are looking for a confident and clear leader who combines analytical sharpness with the ability to drive change in a complex business.
You have:
- Relevant academic education or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of management experience in a complex and preferably technology-intensive environment.
- Experience leading change initiatives or developing functions.
- Extensive experience in maintenance planning or asset management within infrastructure (electricity grids, railways, energy, industry, or similar).
- A strong understanding of risk-based and data-driven maintenance from a lifecycle perspective.
- Experience working with KPIs, follow-up, and steering.
Meritorious:
- Experience with ISO 55000 / Asset Management.
- Experience with SAP PM or similar EAM systems.
Additional Information
At Vattenfall Eldistribution, you have the opportunity to:
- Be part of developing the maintenance work for one of Sweden's most important energy systems.
- Work in an organization with a strong focus on safety, sustainability, and long-term societal benefit.
- Influence and shape future working methods within asset management and maintenance.
- Develop as a leader in a complex and technically advanced business.
