The Centre for Health Economics Research at Uppsala University is seeking Research Assistants for a fixed-term position of 12 months, located at the Department of Medical Sciences.

The Centre for Health Economics Research at Uppsala University is an interdisciplinary research centre aiming for efficient resource use in healthcare and improved population health. The Centre is a collaboration between the Area of Medicine and Pharmacy and the Faculty of Social Sciences, built on a multidisciplinary perspective where various competencies are combined. The ambition is to break new ground within the Centre's research areas.

The Department of Medical Sciences is a large clinical department with approximately 250 employees and over 900 individuals affiliated via the University Hospital. The department has a broad research profile with strong research groups in a number of areas. Research takes place in close connection with the clinical activities at the University Hospital and covers both basic studies on disease causes and the development and evaluation of improved diagnostics and new treatment methods. Job Responsibilities

We are looking for up to 3 Research Assistants for a fixed-term position of 12 months at the Centre for Health Economics Research. The tasks involve assisting in various research projects within the Centre under supervision, as well as performing administrative tasks within the research projects and the Centre. As a Research Assistant, you will work closely with researchers and assist them with everything from data collection and processing to providing support for advanced econometric and statistical analysis in research projects using large register-based data materials.

Qualifications

The applicant must have a Master's degree with a focus on quantitative analysis, for example in economics. Very good knowledge of English is required, as well as a genuine interest in research and societal issues. Furthermore, knowledge of microdata econometric methods and experience working with quantitative data materials are required. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities such as teamwork and initiative, flexibility, and the ability to analyze data independently.

Desirable/Additional Merits

Experience with software such as R and Stata, and experience compiling institutional reports, is considered particularly meritorious. Documented interest in health economics is also seen as meritorious.

About the Position

The position is fixed-term for 12 months.

The position is full-time (100%) with a start date of July 1, 2026, or as agreed. The position is located at the Department of Medical Sciences, with the workplace in the premises of the Centre for Health Economics Research in Uppsala. Individual salary setting applies.
