Do you want to help develop our steel manufacturing processes? We are now looking for a Process Developer within Metallurgy.

About the role

As a Process Developer at Uddeholms AB, you are a key part of developing, optimizing, and ensuring the quality of our processes. You will collaborate closely with large parts of our production, including operators, the R&D department, as well as other teams and functions within our operations.

As a Process Developer in Metallurgy, you will primarily work with our steel plant, which is the heart of Uddeholm, where the areas of work span from the electric arc furnace to continuous casting.

You will also have external contacts with various universities and research institutes.

Responsibilities:

Your main responsibilities include, among other things,

• Being the company's knowledge holder within your area of focus
• Developing, improving, and updating production regulations and process control
• Ensuring that the process control system contains correct information
• Providing technical expertise related to quality-critical equipment
• Monitoring and participating in external knowledge development, for example through conferences, courses, and industry forums.
• Driving and initiating quality work in close collaboration with management groups and operators
• Conducting root cause analyses in the event of deviations and complaints

The role also involves driving and leading development activities together with different teams, coordinating technical investigations within quality and process, and participating in investigations related to larger investment projects. You also work on proposing and driving strategic improvements in production and have a reviewing role for the processes within your area.

Your profile

We are looking for you who have an academic education in metallurgy, materials science, chemistry, physics, or a similar field. Experience within the steel industry is an advantage.

You have good knowledge of using Microsoft Office and are proficient in Swedish and English, both in speech and writing.

As a person, you are self-motivated and take responsibility for your work, driving your tasks forward in a structured and goal-oriented manner. You have analytical skills and an eye for detail. You have good communication skills and thrive when collaborating with different types of teams and functions.
