About the role
As a Design Engineer within POD propulsion at Kongsberg Maritime, you will become a central part of the development of our POD systems. You will be technically responsible for 3D design, reviewing, and follow-up of products from early ideas and concepts to finished products and delivery. The role involves close collaboration with colleagues in Sweden and Finland, as well as international suppliers and customers. The work includes product development, detailed design, as well as the design of moving components for customer-specific adaptations.
PODs are high-tech, fully electric propulsion systems and an important part of our portfolio of environmentally friendly marine solutions with high performance, low noise levels, and exceptional maneuverability.
The position is located in Kristinehamn. Travel may be required.
Responsibilities
- Design and detailed development of mechanical and electrical components in POD systems, focusing on moving parts and complex mechanical systems.
- Work in Siemens NX and manage drawings in Teamcenter.
- Design review and support for junior colleagues.
- Ensure that products meet technical and customer-specific requirements.
- Participate in new development projects, adapt products to customer-specific needs, and contribute improvements to the existing product portfolio.
- Maintain continuous contact with suppliers and customers to ensure the right components, quality, and delivery.
About you

We would like you to have:
- An engineering degree in mechanics, mechanical engineering, or electronics.
- Excellent knowledge of 3D CAD.
- Experience with complex design, including moving parts.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for projects and deliveries.
- Experience in design review and supporting colleagues.
Meritorious qualifications:
- Experience with Teamcenter or other PDM systems.
- Knowledge in electronics, hydraulics, or marine technical systems.
- Experience in international collaboration and supplier contacts.
