We are now looking for you who want to work as a visual impairment pedagogue / assistive device consultant in our visual team at the Center for Assistive Devices (CFH). You have experience working with people with visual impairments and deafblindness and have relevant higher education.

CFH is an stimulating operation where you work together with knowledgeable colleagues who have a strong drive to find individual solutions through the right choice of assistive devices.

Sprida Communications Center is one of the units at CFH. We work as a resource for the county's prescribing occupational therapists, visual impairment pedagogues, and speech therapists. This means that we mediate knowledge and support regarding assistive devices for communicative and cognitive support to residents in Örebro County. We also take on this type of assignment on order. The client can be other municipalities and regions, companies, or authorities such as the Swedish Social Insurance Agency or the Swedish Public Employment Service. We offer advice, testing, and training regarding assistive devices that should provide support for functional limitations within cognition, communication, mobility, vision, and hearing. We work together in teams, starting from the person's unique needs.

Job Responsibilities

Your job responsibilities mainly include performing needs analysis, testing, and training based on the person's needs and prerequisites regarding visual adaptation in computers, smartphones, and tablets. You will work with people of all ages and with different visual impairments as well as people with deafblindness. The job responsibilities will involve both independent work and teamwork.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as a visual impairment pedagogue, special education teacher, pedagogue, occupational therapist, or have another adequate university/college education. We would like you to have experience of habilitation/rehabilitation of people with visual impairment. You see possibilities with technology and are a proficient computer user.

You have good pedagogical skills as you provide training both individually and in groups. You have good social competence and a good approach since the position involves contact with many people daily, both patients and employees.

Teamwork is important. In our work, we attach great importance to your personal suitability where good cooperation skills are a prerequisite. As a person, you are structured, creative, and open to different solutions. You have your own drive and the ability to work independently. You are sensitive, a good listener, and good at motivating others. You have a B driver's license, as travel is included in the job.

About the Operation

The Center for Assistive Devices is a unique and important operation within the area of Habilitation and Assistive Devices that works with distributing, testing, and adapting assistive devices. The Center for Assistive Devices has approx. 70 employees and the professional groups that exist are among others assistive device consultants, technicians, warehouse staff, engineers, and administrative staff. Collaboration takes place continuously with other operations within Region Örebro County as well as the county's municipalities. The Center for Assistive Devices strives for an open climate and the management places great emphasis on employee participation and influence. Habilitation and assistive device operations should promote people's development and find each person's best possible functional ability, create conditions for physical and mental well-being, equality in living conditions, and participation in social life.
