About the schools and the principal's area

Sjöängsskolan and Lillhagsskolan belong to the Lillhagen principal's area, and we work based on prioritized goals: Knowledge, Values, and Student Health Work. We engage in collegial learning and systematic analysis and evaluation of our teaching to ensure that both students and staff have the best opportunities for development. We use Unikum for planning, assessment, and communication with guardians.

Sjöängsskolan

Sjöängsskolan is located in a quiet area on Bomhusvägen, approximately 4 km from Gävle City. About 320 students from pre-school class to year six attend our school, which operates with two parallel classes. Approximately 40 employees work at Sjöängsskolan, and we have a high proportion of certified staff. We have a pleasant schoolyard with wooded areas and access to large football pitches next to the school. You can easily reach us by bus, car, or via a good cycling path.

Lillhagsskolan

Lillhagsskolan is a school for everyone and a school to look forward to. Children from pre-school class to year nine attend our school, and we place great emphasis on students feeling safe with us and on building good relationships with all our students and their parents. We know that all students can succeed here!

About the position

We are now looking for an engaged and creative craft teacher who wants to help create a safe, inspiring, and educational school environment for our students in years 3-6 within the Lillhagen principal's area. You will be employed at Sjöängsskolan, and your role also includes working at Lillhagsskolan. Here, you will have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues and contribute to a school where students' curiosity, creativity, and desire to learn are at the center. We now need your competence and joy of work to make our joint efforts even more successful!

Responsibilities

As a teacher in wood and metal crafts, you will primarily teach at Sjöängsskolan, but there will also be teaching at Lillhagsskolan, for example, one morning per week. You will be responsible for mapping, planning, implementing, and evaluating craft lessons. The work is carried out according to decided goals and guidelines, and together with your colleagues, you will shape a good, enjoyable, and varied school day with the students' best interests in focus.

Your duties include, among other things:

• Plan, implement, and follow up on teaching in wood and metal crafts according to the curriculum.
• Teach and guide students in practical tasks, material knowledge, tool handling, and work processes.
• Support students' creativity, problem-solving skills, and craftsmanship.
• Work in collaboration with other educators, student health services, guardians, and other actors outside the school.
• Challenge and support students so they achieve good academic results, adapting your teaching to the needs and prerequisites of all students.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• A teaching degree and teaching certification with eligibility to teach in years 3-6 and the subject of wood and metal crafts.
• Familiarity with and knowledge of the Swedish compulsory school curriculum.
• The ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of and experience working with digital tools, such as documentation in Unikum or Office.

• Structure and good planning skills for your work.

The final candidate must be able to present a police certificate of good conduct (belastningsregister) for work in schools or preschools. This should not be attached to your application.

Employment type and working hours

Employment type: Permanent position.
Working hours: Daytime.
