Forensic psychiatry in Örebro consists of five wards with a total of 43 inpatient beds. We are currently looking for staff members for Ward 8 in Mellringe to work day, evening, and night shifts. This is a fixed-term position (locum) as the permanent employee is on parental leave. The ward has 11 inpatient beds and also treats outpatients. We are looking for you who find it exciting to be part of a developing organization providing high-quality forensic psychiatric care. When you start working with us, you will receive a suitable introduction. You are welcome to a pleasant workplace with challenging tasks, and several projects are underway to improve care and patient participation.
Fixed-term for one year or until the permanent employee returns. Full-time position covering days, evenings, and nights.
Job DescriptionThe patients under our care have been transferred to healthcare instead of prison and are treated in accordance with the Act on Forensic Psychiatric Care (LRV). The periods of care are relatively long because the patients have complex issues, and the work is systematic, varied, and stimulating. On Ward 8, the patients have progressed somewhat in the care process. This means they are in a rehabilitation and discharge phase, and much of the rehabilitation takes place outside the ward. Collaboration with other actors in the care chain constitutes a significant part of our operations. The care is person-centered with the patient in focus, and as a nurse assistant, you are the one in the team primarily working with psychiatric nursing care in the patient's treatment. You work together with nurses, doctors, psychologists, occupational therapists, and social workers. You must also be able to work independently and be flexible, as well as have the ability to identify and articulate the specific needs regarding each individual patient. The tasks are varied, and as a nurse assistant, you work both individually and in group activities with patients. You are also expected to contribute to the development of the operations and take responsibility for improving the parts of care you are responsible for.
QualificationsWe welcome you who are trained as a nurse assistant/skötare, preferably with a focus on psychiatry according to the previous program structure, or are trained as a nurse assistant within the current program structure. You may also have completed a vocational higher education (YH) training for nurse assistants. To assess employability, grades from your healthcare education and proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) regarding the protected professional title must be attached to your application.
The applicant should have a high degree of personal maturity and a strong interest in people. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability and qualities such as empathy, communication skills, manner of dealing with others, and openness to new knowledge are highly valued. A driver's license is an advantage but not a requirement.
ApplicationThe application should include a CV, a cover letter, and grades from completed healthcare courses, as well as proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare regarding the protected professional title if applicable. Other certificates, grades, diplomas, etc., should be provided during a potential interview.
If you are or have previously been employed by Region Örebro County, we will take internal references from your current or former manager if you become a candidate for employment.
A check of extracts from the police register may be conducted according to current legislation.
