RESPONSIBILITIES
We offer summer jobs at specialized housing with a focus on night shifts.
Specialized housing is aimed at elderly people who need support in their daily lives. You work in a team together with colleagues, but also have your own responsibility for your tasks. On our short-term ward, you meet users who are with us for, for example, rehabilitation, investigation, respite, or palliative care.
As a substitute within care and support, you contribute to creating a safe and meaningful everyday life when regular staff is absent. Your tasks may include:
- Nursing and personal hygiene
- Support with medication management
- Supervision and care during the night
- Creating security and supporting and motivating users
The work is mainly performed at night, both weekdays and weekends. You contribute to preserving each user's individual routines and circadian rhythm.
All planning takes place via mobile phone, which gives a clear structure to the work. At the same time, you need to be flexible as unforeseen situations may arise.
Before employment, you will receive an introduction at the workplace where you shadow experienced staff to feel secure in your role.
QUALIFICATIONS
It is a great advantage if you have education and experience within care and support, but it is not a requirement. You need to have a willingness to learn new things and develop.
There are clear routines that it is important to adhere to in order to ensure good care for our users. You may, for example, be responsible for distributing medication. This requires great attention to detail.
It is important that you enjoy working with people. Our users need different types of help and treatment. You need to be sensitive to the users' needs and be good at collaborating with your colleagues.
- You need to be able to take initiative and have the ability to prioritize when several things happen simultaneously.
- You need to understand, write, and speak Swedish.
- You need to be able to handle the IT systems that are necessary in the service, which requires computer skills.
- Within several of our operations, you need to have a driver's license, but it is not required everywhere.
Before potential employment within care and support, you need to submit an extract from the criminal record register. This is part of our routine to ensure security and safety in the operation. You will receive more information about this during the recruitment process.
You need to be 18 years or older. The age limit is set due to special regulations according to the Working Environment Act. Regulations regarding the working environment for minors are regulated in AFS 2012:3.
Employment type: Summer job / Holiday work.
Duration: 3-6 months.
