About the position
As an occupational therapist with us, you will work with patient groups of different ages living in ordinary housing. The work consists of varied tasks, providing opportunities for variety and challenges. You will support activity training, adaptations of both the physical and social environment, and the trial of assistive devices. Our task is to help patients achieve their own goals so that they can be as independent as possible at home. We work in teams together with other professional categories, but you also have close collaboration with fellow occupational therapists.
Examples of tasks:
- Work with the patient's needs at the center based on a person-centered approach to enable as independent a life as possible for the individual.
- Investigate the need for occupational therapy according to the occupational therapy process.
- Collaborate with other professions to create individual care plans that are documented.
- Educate, inform, and supervise nursing staff, students, and other professions.
- Prescribe and trial assistive devices.
- Write certificates for applications for housing adaptations.
- Work independently and in teams with colleagues and other professional categories.
- Document in the operational system.
About the workplace
Home Care West operates from a shared location centrally in western Örebro. Our unit consists of just over 40 employees, of which 15 are occupational therapists. Our catchment area consists of both urban and rural areas, in a varied and pleasant area. We travel to our patients by both bicycle and car.
Home care is organized within the Social Administration's area of Care and Welfare. The activity includes care and welfare, preventive activities, authority activities in the area, as well as housing placement and housing adaptations. Within the area of Care and Welfare, we work to support people to live a healthy life and continue to participate in society on their own terms.

Qualifications
As an occupational therapist, you are confident in yourself and have good self-insight. You enjoy having your own areas of responsibility and take responsibility for your tasks in an independent and structured manner. You will have extensive contact with patients, relatives, and staff, which requires that you are clear in your communication and have a good manner that creates trusting relationships. Furthermore, you adapt easily to changed circumstances and see opportunities and solutions in what you are faced with. Furthermore, you master the Swedish language in a way that allows you to communicate with patients and other staff, as well as document what the activity requires. Since the work involves digital documentation in operational systems, good computer skills are required.
We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Requirements:
- Licensed occupational therapist.
- Category B driver's license for manual transmission.
- Ability to cycle.
Merits:
- Experience working as an occupational therapist.
- Experience in municipal health and medical care.
- Experience documenting in operational systems.
