Temporary position at 50% during the autumn term of 2026, starting in August.

You now have the opportunity to apply for a sought-after position as a School Doctor in Haninge Municipality. One of our colleagues will be on leave during the upcoming term, so we are looking for a colleague for a temporary position with the possibility of extension. There are currently two full-time school doctors in the municipality.

In Haninge, school nurses are employed at the schools, while you as a School Doctor will be employed centrally at the Child and Adolescent Health Unit. In your daily work, you will collaborate with the business manager and the medically responsible person. The majority of your work will be located at your assigned schools, where close collaboration with the school nurses is key. We value close contact and good cooperation with the schools' student health teams, and you as a School Doctor will therefore regularly attend student health team meetings at the schools.

In Haninge, we care about the students and want to use the resources within the Student Health Service in the best possible way to support those who need it most. As a School Doctor, your primary task is to remove obstacles for students' schooling. We therefore value that you, as a future colleague, are engaged in both direct student work and the overall work with patient safety, prioritization, and structure, as well as improving and developing daily work.

In Haninge, we document in the journal system Prorenata.

Your assignment

  • Evaluate, examine, and if necessary refer to other healthcare providers based on the results of health examinations. This may involve cases concerning psychiatric issues, growth, orthopedics (primarily scoliosis), and other school-related health problems.
  • Prescribe vaccinations according to individual vaccination programs.
  • Conduct medical assessments prior to admission to adapted school forms.
  • Collaborate with other members of the student health team at the schools during regular meetings regarding students and with preventive proposals within student health.
  • Participate in the systematic quality work within medical student health.
  • Collaborate with the student's guardians, school staff, other healthcare providers, and external authorities.

What we are looking for in you

We are looking for you who are a licensed physician with specialist competence in general medicine, child and adolescent psychiatry, or child and adolescent medicine. Specialization in school health care is meritorious. You have previous experience working with children and adolescents, and it is meritorious if you have previously worked as a school doctor. Good Swedish in speech and writing is a prerequisite for the position.

You are confident in your professional role, are structured, and can handle cases independently, but you also see the importance of collaboration and have an interest in working with others. You build good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues, and establish important contacts both within and outside the organization. Furthermore, you are solution-oriented, analytical, and can view issues from different perspectives and in a larger context.
