Hallsberg is in an expansive position with new housing production and the establishment of new companies. The municipality has approximately 16,000 residents.

We are now looking for an Occupational Therapist with experience and knowledge in occupational therapy and rehabilitation to join our team!

About the Operations

The Unit for Health and Preventive Work includes the Occupational Therapy and Assistive Technology organization, day activities, day centers, open preventive work, Next of Kin Support, and the Cognitive Support Team. Hallsberg Municipality's health and medical care is divided into geographical areas. The municipal health and medical care mandate covers home care, special housing, and disability services. In addition to these areas, we are responsible for safe home discharge, hospital discharges, short-term care, and respite care.

Today, we have 11 occupational therapist positions that together and jointly fulfill the operations' mandate under the Health and Medical Services Act (HSL). We are a wonderful group with high combined competence who jointly take responsibility for our mandate! Currently, this recruitment is planned to target Short-term and Respite Care within the operations. It is a varied position that requires flexibility, teamwork skills, and a sense of responsibility. Within Short-term and Respite Care, there is a constant flow and processes regarding rehabilitation, adaptations, assistive devices, training programs, etc. When flows and processes function well, we achieve quality, patient safety, and secure rehabilitation for our seniors.

You will work closely with other occupational therapists, as well as physiotherapists and nurses in collaboration. The office is located at Blomsterängen in central Hallsberg, where several occupational therapy and nursing colleagues work. We have recurring joint check-ins with prioritizations, mandates, and delimitations. The organization is stable. Work routines are well-established, and routines/criteria for the HSL rehabilitation area function well.

Job Responsibilities

As an Occupational Therapist at the Unit for Health and Preventive Work, you will work with:

  • Work according to mandate description: Occupational therapy work based on licensure, e.g., assessments, fittings, prescriptions, dispensing of assistive devices based on criteria, follow-ups, investigations, documentation, and teamwork with other professions.
  • Drive the rehabilitation process: Independently drive the rehabilitation process in close collaboration with other professions such as care staff, managers, and assistance officers. Forums for the rehabilitation process exist in Hallsberg Municipality, e.g., through the Hallsberg Model, team meetings, and collegial collaboration.
  • HSL Responsibility: Responsibility regarding quality, patient safety, documentation, collaboration, and teamwork according to current legislation.
  • Short-term and Respite Care: Work according to the specific mandate for Short-term and Respite Care, for example: the admission process for Short-term and Respite Care and collaboration with relevant parties, the rehabilitation process in collaboration with the patient, next of kin, operations, and manager (including team meetings where you prepare, conduct, report, complete, and document your areas of responsibility), and the discharge process focusing on a safe home return for the patient.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed Occupational Therapist and feel confident working independently and in teams within rehabilitation. You take responsibility and fulfill your commitments regarding your licensure. You are driven and solution-focused, and accustomed to prioritizing your tasks. We welcome new colleagues who, through engagement and innovative thinking, can help us develop the operations and are ready to accept the challenges within municipal care. You have a good manner of dealing with people, contribute to a good work environment, and find it easy to collaborate. You will work in teams with other occupational therapists, nurses, care staff, assistance officers, and unit managers, where you mentor and are driving within your area.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
