Your workplace

"Habilitation, Vision and Assistive Devices" is a county-wide operation offering cross-professional and specialized interventions and assistive devices for children, young people, and adults with long-term disabilities.

At the adult habilitation unit, you will work alongside psychologists, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists. Discussions regarding common professional and habilitation-relevant issues are ongoing within and across professional boundaries. We place great emphasis on staying updated with current research in the field of habilitation and, as far as possible, basing our work on evidence-based methods.

The target groups for adult habilitation are individuals with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual disabilities, mobility impairments, and acquired brain injuries. Our patients have one or more of these conditions. The goal of all interventions in our operations is to optimize the opportunities for individuals with permanent disabilities to live as independent a life as possible, based on their own prerequisites.

Here, you will find driven and engaged colleagues. We have a systematic work environment management system and place significant focus on the introduction and mentoring of new employees. We also conduct structured development work focusing on evidence-based interventions both individually and in groups, as well as an expanded range of e-services.

As one of the region's health-promoting workplaces, we offer joint wellness activities and a wellness hour. The psychology group has access to case supervision, and there are good opportunities for further education.

Your responsibilities

The psychologist's responsibilities at the adult habilitation unit include individual treatment interventions, group therapy, assessments of cognitive functioning levels, and consultative support to staff groups. Our work is directed towards all patients in the operation.

You will quickly gain insight into the breadth of the neuropsychiatric field and see the value of pragmatic interventions as a complement to traditional treatment work. To meet the needs of our target groups, the role also involves providing consultative support to staff groups. We use evidence-based methods such as TBA (Early Autism Treatment) and PBS (Positive Behavior Support) in close collaboration with other professions in the team.

Another important task for the psychologist is to read, assess, and process incoming referrals. Psychologists participate in the development of operations and continuously work on psychology-specific development issues. Current areas include the development of e-services and broadening the range of group activities for both patients and relatives.

In the role of psychologist with specialist functions, in addition to the above, you will drive development and quality assurance of care from a psychological perspective. The work includes clinical interventions focusing on complex assessment and treatment cases, as well as leading operational and method development both internally and in collaboration with others. You also contribute to preserving and developing psychological interventions together with the psychology group, strengthen the scientific approach by monitoring new research and guidelines, supervise colleagues, and engage in dialogue with management on overarching issues from a psychological perspective.

Your knowledge and competencies

We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist with specialist competence in psychological treatment, neuropsychology, or the psychology of disabilities.

As a person, we see that you have the ability to adapt to changed circumstances and see opportunities in changes. You are creative and often come up with ideas and new approaches to work-related issues. We also see that you have a good understanding of how humans acquire knowledge and that people have different prerequisites. Therefore, you must also have the ability to adapt the way you convey messages to the recipient.

Experience with habilitation and/or the target groups of habilitation is considered meritorious but not a requirement.
