Are you analytical, curious, and passionate about improvement? Do you want to ensure that our products and processes maintain the absolute highest standards? Then you might be the one we are looking for! Here, you will play a key role in a dedicated team where quality is more than just a word – it is a driving force. We work close to production and constantly develop our methods according to LEAN principles. We are now in an exciting phase and look forward to welcoming you as our new colleague!
Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the planet's future and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for our societal development and will continue to be so in the future. In our homes, in bridges connecting our cities, and in tomorrow's cars. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high-strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries with the highest greenhouse gas emissions globally. This must change. Therefore, we have developed the world's first fossil-free steel production process and committed to becoming largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will be vital in realizing this goal and contributing to the green transition of the entire steel industry.
About the role
As a Development Engineer, you will play a central role in our work to identify, analyze, and address quality defects. You will:

- Support the identification of quality defects in collaboration with the operations and contribute to creating a culture of continuous improvement.
- Help investigate problems and set up action plans and key performance indicators that lead to concrete and sustainable improvements and preventive solutions.
Your main responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and present statistics.
- Develop improvement proposals within current sections.
- Present analyses and proposals to the line and potentially other stakeholders.
- Support respective sections during quality deviations, as well as during new investments and the implementation of new equipment.
About you
- We believe you are structured, analytical, driven, and have strong communication skills. You have experience in process development or quality work and thrive in a role where you collaborate with different parts of the organization.
- You have a multi-year university degree, preferably with a focus on materials science, manufacturing processes, or quality.
- Knowledge of steel manufacturing and experience from process development, QA, or measurement systems are advantageous.
- Your analytical skills are important, and you are accustomed to data handling, as well as giving presentations and acting as a meeting chair. You are proficient in Excel.
