As a System Safety Engineer, you become part of an experienced and engaged team working with land, naval, and ammunition systems, where the big picture, quality, and responsibility are at the center. You will work closely with colleagues, customers, and FMV (Swedish Defence Materiel Administration), and every day contribute to ensuring that the systems being developed are safe, robust, and ready for real-world conditions.

Step 1 - Training: Experis Academy's training in collaboration with BAE Systems

Experis Academy and BAE Systems offer you a job that begins with an intensive training in the areas of system safety. This is followed by consultancy assignments and a specialization period in the field at BAE Systems in Karlskoga.

Experis Academy is part of the consulting company Experis. Our training programs have grown across Europe over the years. We focus heavily on coaching to give our employees the opportunity to complement their technical skills with other soft skills. The employment begins with an intensive training conducted by Experis Academy. After completing the training, all employed participants will begin working as consultants at BAE Systems, which we refer to below as the specialization period.

Step 2 - Specialization Period: The Role of System Safety Engineer

As a System Safety Engineer at BAE Systems, you play a crucial role in ensuring that advanced defense and security systems are safe, reliable, and sustainable throughout their entire lifecycle. You work with complex systems in the land, naval, and ammunition sectors, where safety, quality, and long-term perspective are critical to avoiding any risks for users, systems, and the environment.

In this role, you are responsible for identifying, analyzing, and managing risks related to everything from usage and operation to maintenance, repair, and decommissioning. You work systematically with requirements, risk analyses, and verification in accordance with applicable laws, standards, and the Swedish Armed Forces' regulations. System safety functions as an independent and auditing role, meaning you have the mandate to stand up for safety and ensure that the right decisions are made.

You collaborate closely with project teams, system engineers, and designers across several disciplines, and have ongoing dialogue with Swedish customers such as the Swedish Armed Forces and FMV. The role combines technical breadth with responsibility, communication, and analysis, and suits you who want to work long-term in projects where your contribution makes a real difference.

We also believe you have some or all of the following:

• Higher education, preferably in technology, mechanics, electronics, or software.
• Previous experience working as an engineer or in system-near technical roles.
• Experience or exposure to systems, system safety, or similar areas.
• Experience working with documentation, analyses, and structured working methods.
• Experience from production and/or assembly.
• Interest in system architecture, design, and underlying technical solutions.

Practical Information:

• Training Start: November 2026.
• Training and Specialization Location: Karlskoga.
• Working Hours: Full-time.
• The assignment requires that you undergo and pass the current security clearance requirements.
