About Lillhagen and Lillhagsskolan

In the Lillhagen principal's area, we work based on prioritized goals in Knowledge, Values, and Student Health Services. We are supported by several lead teachers who work cross-area with all staff at recurring conferences and study days. High expectations for both students and staff permeate our operations. We work with collegial learning and systematic analysis and evaluation of our teaching to ensure that both students and staff get the best opportunities for development. Lillhagsskolan has a well-functioning student health team consisting of a school counselor, school nurse, special educator, special teacher, and assistant principal. The lower secondary school consists of four parallel classes with approximately 360 students and over 50 employees, located in the "White House" building.

We work according to the "Gävle Model," a municipality-wide safety initiative where all staff are involved in values-based work. As a new employee, you will have access to a mentor. Building good relationships with students is a cornerstone of our work.

Are you a relationship-building and dedicated teacher who wants to inspire students to develop their skills in cooking and daily life, while contributing to a learning environment where every student feels seen, included, and motivated to develop?

We are now looking for a teacher in Home and Consumer Studies for a longer substitute position at Lillhagsskolan.

Responsibilities

As a teacher in Home and Consumer Studies, you will have the opportunity to promote students' knowledge development in cooking, nutrition, personal finance, and sustainable lifestyle.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Teaching Home and Consumer Studies in grades 7-9 according to the current curriculum.
• Being responsible for mapping, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the teaching.
• Challenging and supporting students to achieve good academic results, adapting teaching based on students' different needs, prerequisites, and abilities.
• Creating a varied, joyful, and structured school day together with your colleagues, working in close collaboration with other educators, student health services, and guardians.
• If relevant to the position, class responsibility may be included.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• A teaching degree and teaching license with eligibility to teach in grades 7-9 and the subject of Home and Consumer Studies.
• Familiarity with and knowledge of the primary school curriculum.
• The ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of and experience working with digital tools, such as documentation in Unikum or Office.

To succeed in the role, you have:

• The ability to lead, motivate, and inspire students, helping them develop and feel well.
• Good skills in creating open dialogue and adapting your actions based on the current situation.
• Relationship-building skills, taking initiative in social contexts, and the ability to create trust in your professional relationships.
• A non-hierarchical approach in your collaboration with colleagues, students, and guardians.
• The ability to plan and organize your work. You easily set goals, organize resources, and follow up and conclude activities.

Employment and Terms

• Employment Type: Fixed-term employment.
• Duration: 6 months or longer.
• Working Hours: Daytime.

As a final candidate, you must be able to present a police certificate of good conduct for work in schools or preschools. This should not be attached to your application.
