The Employment Administration is responsible for the municipality's operations within adult education, the labor market, and integration. Within the administration, approximately 150 employees work in an operation that includes around 1,200 participants in labor market programs and projects, as well as around 3,000 students in the combined adult education. Läroviken is Sandviken Municipality's unit for adult education. Läroviken is responsible for Swedish for Immigrants (SFI), Lärvux (Adult Vocational Education), basic education, upper secondary education, vocational training, as well as post-secondary and supplementary education.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a vocational teacher for our apprenticeship training in the vehicle damage repair industry who wants to help develop a modern and work-life-oriented adult education.

In the role of vocational teacher, you work closely with both students and the industry. The majority of the students' learning takes place at workplaces, and you are responsible for planning, following up, and ensuring the quality of their education in collaboration with supervisors at the companies. You conduct regular workplace visits where you support the student's development, ensure goal fulfillment, and connect practical learning with theoretical moments.

You teach vocational theoretical parts related to vehicle damage repair, such as bodywork, materials, tools, and work processes, as well as safety, quality, and sustainability. You actively work to integrate theory and practice, making the education relevant and understandable for the students based on their daily life at the workplace.

With us, you meet students in different life situations and from different cultures, which requires a language-developing and relationship-building approach focused on creating motivation and hope for the future. The teaching is based on the students' experiences and prerequisites, and you adapt and individualize the setup accordingly.

You collaborate with supervisors and workplaces to create good learning environments and clear structures for the apprenticeship training, in line with directive documents and national goals. Documentation, follow-up, and assessment are an important part of the assignment.

You become part of an engaged work team where we together develop the education and dare to try new ways of working. The operation is changing, which means you need to be flexible and have the ability to adapt to new conditions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Vocational Teacher Diploma, or equivalent competence within the vehicle damage repair industry
• Several years of professional experience in vehicle damage repair (e.g., sheet metal work, painting, or equivalent)
• Good industry knowledge regarding materials, techniques, tools, and work processes
• Experience in mentoring, education, or introduction of new employees/students

It is meritorious if you:

• have experience of apprenticeship training or APL (Adapted Practical Learning)

You have an easy time building trusting relationships, both with students and with supervisors in the industry. You motivate, follow up, and support students who are in transition and on their way to a new profession.

As a person, you are proactive and humble, with good collaboration skills.

You actively contribute to developing both the education and the collaboration with working life. You thrive in change and see new challenges as opportunities to develop.
