The current project unit in Uppsala/Enköping consists of ten project managers, one investment manager, and one unit manager. The project managers are responsible for construction and infrastructure projects throughout the entire process – from the early stages to handover to management and the customer.

As a Project Manager, you play a key role in driving and coordinating various types of construction and infrastructure projects.

The role involves:

  • Ensure overall project monitoring and reporting.
  • Coordinate resources and suppliers to ensure project progress.
  • Responsible for documentation and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, authority requirements, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the properties meet the requirements of our tenants, which involves extensive contact with customers and authorities.

The position involves travel primarily within the unit's geographical area, which includes Uppsala, Västmanland, Örebro, Dalarna, and Södermanland counties, but may also involve travel throughout Sweden as the Swedish Defence Estates Agency operates nationwide.

Due to the nature of the work, remote work is only possible to a limited extent, depending on which projects you are assigned.

  • Good leadership skills with documented experience in leading projects and collaborations.
  • Several years of experience in planning and executing investment projects related to the construction and property industry, with responsibility for time, cost, quality, environment, and function.
  • High security awareness.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Good familiarity with administrative IT systems.
  • Class B driver's license.

It is meritorious if you have knowledge or experience of:

  • The Public Procurement Act (LOU) and the Act on Procurement in the Defense and Security Area (LUFS).
  • Property and construction law.
  • Cost assessment/bid calculation in projects.
  • Designing/construction management consultant or contractor.
  • Coordination of complex projects, size/volume, multiple components, or multiple different operations.
  • Security-classified projects or protection of buildings, e.g., for authorities/defense.

Your personal qualities are very important to us, and we will place great emphasis on personal suitability. To succeed in the role, you are collaborative and work without hierarchy, focusing on common goals and solutions. You are structured, plan and organize your work well, and drive the work forward according to set timeframes. You are relationship-building and have an easy time building and developing good collaborations, both internally and externally. Furthermore, you are confident in yourself and your professional role, stand up for your opinions, and have the ability to separate facts from personality.
