Your Responsibilities

As Unit Manager for Visitor Areas, you lead the overall daily work and are responsible for personnel, operations, and budget. You are supported by operations coordinators who are responsible for the daily operational activities, as well as conversation coaches who support employees in service and customer interaction. You also have access to resources within administration, HR, and finance.

In this role, you will be the manager for employees distributed across three different offices. As Unit Manager, you report to the Department Manager for Contact and Service. You collaborate closely with your peer manager at the Ebbepark unit, as well as other leadership within the department, to ensure a unified approach and quality-assured, customer-adapted, and efficient service. As Unit Manager, you are part of the leadership group for the Contact and Service department.

The position involves being a manager in an operational activity in constant change, where frameworks and assignments evolve. Your assignment includes driving development issues, and you will have the opportunity to influence the municipality's development from a customer perspective.

Your Workplace

Contact Linköping is the municipality's joint center for citizen services, with approximately 30 employees divided into two units: Visitor Areas and Ebbepark. Citizens come here for help with their cases within all of the municipality's operations. By bringing all of Linköping's contact points for its residents to one location, we can provide better service, reduce processing times, and increase our accessibility. Contact Linköping's operations are currently located at four different sites: Ebbepark, the Main Library, Skäggetorp Center, and Berga Castle.

Contact Linköping has an exciting assignment where we work together with all of the municipality's administrations and a few of the municipality's companies to develop resident services throughout the municipality. Our contact channels are via phone, email, chat, e-services, social media, and three physical visitor areas located at the Main Library, Skäggetorp Center, and Berga Castle. We constantly strive to develop our operations and adapt them based on customer needs. At our workplace, two unit managers, societal advisors, budget and debt counselors, and operations coordinators work together. We are now looking for a Unit Manager for our Visitor Areas unit. The unit has a total of 18 employees divided into two teams: one team of societal advisors and another team consisting of budget and debt counselors.

Who You Are

We require a relevant academic education in business management, service management, public administration, or organization and leadership. Leadership training is an advantage. You have a few years of experience as a manager with personnel responsibility, preferably in an activity focused on service. Experience as a manager in public operations or within a larger corporation or company where you were responsible for service and customer interactions is an advantage. This role requires experience in leading change processes.

You communicate clearly and lead by creating engagement and involvement. Having a good understanding of processes and flows, as well as knowledge of how to apply them practically, is central to us. You take initiative and work in a goal-oriented, efficient, and structured manner with a well-developed prioritization ability. You are skilled at capturing ideas and turning them into action to achieve operational goals. You are a good relationship builder, establishing contacts and building good relationships even outside your department and administration. As a person, you have good collaboration skills, a positive attitude, and an engagement that is contagious. Having the customer in focus in everything you do is a given for you. The position requires good ability to communicate in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
