WORK ASSIGNMENTS

At the Music School in Gävle, we are looking for a violin pedagogue who is passionate about guiding and inspiring children and young people. From our beginner string groups to more advanced students in the world of music. The role of violin pedagogue may include work within El Sistema. Our goal is to offer meaningful activities and make musical life in Gävle accessible to every student. Do you want to contribute? Then you are warmly welcome to join us!

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• Teach violin both individually and in groups, focusing on developing students' musical skills.
• Engage, inspire, and motivate children and young people with violin as their main instrument.
• Contribute to an inclusive, safe, and positive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
• Plan, implement, and follow up on teaching and music pedagogical activities.
• Participate in activities during school holidays and, if necessary, work evenings and weekends.
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the development of the school's pedagogical approach.
• Create a safe and inclusive learning environment characterized by diversity.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for an engaged violin pedagogue who wants to inspire children and young people in their musical learning. You need to be confident in your bowing technique and have the ability to motivate students at different levels. We would appreciate it if you used a playful and curious approach, perhaps through creative exercises, rhythmics, musical improvisation, or other inspiring methods that spark the desire to learn and explore music.

• Requirement of upper secondary education, with a university degree in pedagogy or music being an advantage.
• Good ability to communicate in Swedish.
• Show high professional proficiency on the violin and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Experience teaching violin to students both in groups and individually.
• Education in the Suzuki method is also considered an advantage.

• Empathetic and sensitive, with the ability to see each student and create safe, trusting relationships.
• Inspiring and motivating by encouraging joy, development, and curiosity in learning.
• Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to meet each student's individual needs.
• Structured and skilled at planning and organizing to create engaging and well-functioning lessons.

You must be able to provide a certificate from the Swedish Police Authority regarding your criminal record for work within schools or preschools. This should not be attached to your application but will be requested from the final candidate. The position includes activities during school holidays, and there may also be work on evenings and weekends.
