Bergby Central School

Bergby Central School, together with Tröjde, Björke, and Milboskolan, belongs to the Bergby Principal Area. The school is located in Bergby in the scenic Hamrånge area, approximately 3.5 miles north of Gävle City. Bus connections to the city are good, and we have quite a few commuting staff. The school is an F-9 school (preschool class to grade 9) with approximately 300 students and around 40 staff members distributed across three work teams.

We use Unikum for planning, assessment, and communication with guardians. We have a developed systematic quality work process where we follow up on results together regarding knowledge, security, study environment, and absenteeism. Job Information

Bergby Central School is now looking for a certified F-3 teacher who will work in a small teaching group. The position is a permanent employment with a start date of August 12, 2026. Responsibilities

Do you want to be involved in students' learning and development? Are you attracted by challenging and supporting students so they achieve good academic results? This autumn, we will start a group where we will work extensively with a secure, present, and structuring learning environment. As a certified teacher, you will work with individualized instruction in the group. You will have close collaboration with, among others, the student welfare team, the class teacher, and the special needs teacher. The group is aimed at students who need extra support in their schooling.

Together with your colleagues, you contribute to a joyful, varied, and high-quality school day where the students' development and well-being are in focus. You support and challenge the students so they achieve good academic results and adapt the teaching to their different needs and conditions. The work is carried out in close collaboration with other educators, student welfare, guardians, and external actors and is performed according to current goals and guidelines.

Your responsibilities include among other things:

• You are responsible for planning, implementation, assessment, and evaluation of the teaching.
• Mentorship.
• You work with mapping students' needs and adapting the teaching to their conditions.
• You design the day and teaching according to the students' needs.
• You work in a smaller team.

Qualifications

In this role, you actively contribute to a culture where we together take responsibility for creating the best conditions for students' learning and development. You are happy to share your ideas, take in others' perspectives, and see collegial learning as a natural part of the assignment.

We are looking for you who:

• Have a teaching license with eligibility to teach in grades F-3.
• Are familiar with and have knowledge of the curriculum for compulsory school.
• Have the ability to express yourself well in the Swedish language, both orally and in writing, as this is required in the work in dialogue with colleagues, guardians, and students.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience working with adapted teaching in small groups.
• Worked with visual supports.
• Have experience and knowledge of working with digital tools, for example documentation in Unikum or Office.
• Worked with individualized teaching.

To succeed in the role, you have:

• A natural aptitude for leading and motivating students and getting them to thrive and feel good.
• The ability to create trusting relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues, and have a good and non-hierarchical approach in your way of collaborating.
• An inclusive working method that makes every student feel a sense of belonging and security.
• The ability to create calm and clarity in both groups and in meetings with individual students.
• The ability to plan and organize your work well.

The final candidate must be able to present a certificate from the police showing no criminal record for work in schools or preschools. This should not be attached to your application.

Working hours: Daytime.
