Our Operations

The Department of Neurology provides specialized and highly specialized care for patients with diseases and injuries of the nervous system and eyes. We work with investigation and diagnostics, as well as medical and surgical treatment of both acute and chronic neurological and neurosurgical conditions and eye diseases. We offer care to patients from seven regions in Central Sweden and provide national highly specialized care in certain areas to patients from all over Sweden. This complex mission creates good conditions for our employees and operations to develop.

About 550 employees work within the department, distributed across four inpatient wards, two day-care wards, a neuro-intermediate care ward, a neuro-intensive care ward, two operating theaters, and four outpatient clinics. In parallel with clinical activities, there is a high level of research, education, and development at the department, in close collaboration with Uppsala University. Our goal is to be nationally and internationally leading in care, research, and teaching within the neurology and eye disease fields.

Your Role

We are now looking for you who can primarily strengthen and develop our mission regarding headaches, preferably with a focus on migraine and IIH (Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension). We are also looking for you who have worked within stroke care and with the acute stroke flow, including the thrombectomy flow. The position also includes on-call duties (primary on-call and/or back-up on-call) in neurology, depending on your competence. You will work in both outpatient and inpatient care.

Your Qualifications

You are a specialist physician in neurology with a focus on headaches or stroke. A PhD and docency are meritorious, or ongoing research in headaches or stroke.
