About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Kriminalvården)

The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and are now looking for more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. If we succeed, society will become safer and more secure for everyone. We are the agency responsible for prisons, probation services, remand prisons, and prisoner transport.

The Luleå operational area is the northernmost of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service and includes the Luleå and Haparanda prisons as well as the Luleå remand prison. The largest professional group is prison officers, but healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production managers, and others also work here. At the prisons, inmates are engaged in education, various treatment programs, or within the prisons' wood production. You can easily reach the Luleå prison and remand prison by public transport; if you drive, you can park in our staff parking lot. The Haparanda prison is a five-minute walk from Haparanda station.

Job Description

The work involves cleaning the entrance areas, corridors, administrative offices, activity rooms, staff rooms, and other common areas of the prison and remand prison.

Qualifications

You are attentive, service-oriented, and perform your duties in a careful, structured, and systematic manner. Your personal qualities are very important, and we are looking for someone who is flexible, has good teamwork skills, but also the ability to work independently and take initiative. You feel a responsibility for the premises and working environment and make ongoing assessments regarding the need for different work efforts. As a person, you have a positive attitude towards your surroundings.

To thrive and succeed in your role, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values regarding a humane view of humanity, respect for the individual, and the belief that humans are capable of development. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others. We are looking for someone who has:

• Documented work experience as a cleaner
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written

The following are also meritorious:

• Completed upper secondary education
• Relevant education in cleaning services
