Sameskolstyrelsen is a government agency with its office in Jåhkåmåhkke, employing a school principal, controllers, HR staff, and case handlers. The Sami School is an educational form equivalent to the comprehensive school, offering education from pre-school class to year 6. Our teaching is based on Sami culture and language according to the curriculum for the Sami School. We also operate preschools in agreement with the respective municipalities and have activities in Giron, Gárasavvon, Váhtjer, Jåhkåmåhkke, and Dearna. Additionally, we provide distance education in Sami languages and support the development and production of teaching materials for Sami education.
