School Nurse for Gökstensskolan in Torshälla

We have approximately 830 students from preschool class to grade nine. Good relationships are a hallmark of the school, and we always act with good intentions. We have a strong student health service with various competencies and good knowledge of how to help students who need special support.

Job Responsibilities

You will be one of two school nurses at the school. Together, you will work with students from preschool to grade nine and divide the classes between you. You will also collaborate closely with the school's two counselors and be part of our student health team. For some time, the school has focused on physical activity and good habits, driven by both the school nurse and other staff. If you are interested in these areas, there is an opportunity to participate and contribute your knowledge.

As a school nurse, you contribute medical expertise to the school's student health work. You are a support in both preventive work and in matters concerning individual students. You offer our students health check-ups and vaccinations according to an annual schedule. With a warm and professional approach, you create secure relationships with both students and guardians.

With us, you get a secure start. You will be introduced by an experienced school nurse colleague and have support from both the school doctor and Medical Student Health. You will have the opportunity for knowledge exchange and contact with other school nurses through the network group you are part of. We also offer joint competence development and group supervision together with school nurse colleagues at other schools.

Qualifications

You are a registered nurse with further education as a school nurse/school health care, district nurse, or health care for children/youth. It is an advantage if you have experience working with children/youth, preferably in the role of a school nurse.

We are looking for someone who is good at collaborating with different professional roles to offer students the best possible support. You understand the differences among our students and can adapt your approach based on the situation and their personality. You can independently manage your planning and areas of responsibility. We also see that you have a holistic view and the ability to be flexible in your role.
