Job Description

Working as an Environmental Steward (Miljövärd) with us offers meaningful work. To our team on Hisingen, we are now looking for you who have a passion for gardening, property management, and outdoor environments in residential areas.

Tenants' comfort and perceived security are rooted in well-maintained residential areas. Therefore, maintenance with a focus on clean, tidy, and neat is an important task for Environmental Stewards. The work with garden maintenance is broad. Everything from weed removal and grass mowing to planting and ensuring that courtyards are perceived as clean and pleasant. With your creativity, you help shape how our outdoor environments look and develop.

At Familjebostäder, we also have a strong focus on environment and sustainability. As an Environmental Steward, you are responsible for recycling and waste sorting, as well as the maintenance and handling of environmental rooms. This enables tenants to contribute to reaching our environmental and climate goals.

You work outdoors in our residential areas and meet many tenants and visitors daily. Thus, within your professional role, you build good relationships with our tenants and act as the company's extended arm and face. Together, we aim to create a greater sense of security and belonging among those who live and visit our residential areas.

The role also includes administration, in the form of case management, orders, and invoices. We have a digital case management system, and when you are not meeting tenants in the courtyards, you also contact them via phone, email, or our digital system.

In winter, when Gothenburg offers ice and snow, it is primarily the Environmental Stewards who handle snow clearing and anti-icing. There is also snow readiness on evenings and weekends a few times per winter season.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have education in gardening and experience in the profession. You need to be a practical person with the ability to work with repairs, playground safety, and other outdoor maintenance. An interest area in recycling, maintenance, and environment is a plus.

It is meritorious if you have previous experience in the property industry, gardening in residential areas, and/or experience in service professions.

Since you will use machines and vehicles that help you in your work, it is a requirement that you have a driver's license for cars.

The job is largely relationship-building, so it is important that you enjoy building relationships. You have a natural sense for service through a large commitment to the tenants. Under our roof, all different people are welcome, so you need to have great understanding and humility towards other people's different life situations. So, to thrive in the role, you need to have very good social skills by listening to our tenants' different questions, wishes, or problems in their housing.

The job involves a large measure of freedom under responsibility. This means two things for you applying for the job:

• You need to thrive with personal responsibility and enjoy independent work.
• You also need to have a great ability for self-leadership by being able to plan your time both in the long and short term to keep up with your tasks and get flow in the work. You take initiative and are responsible for the work moving forward.

You are part of a work group with other Environmental Stewards and Housing Stewards, so even though the work is largely independent, you also need to be a team player as interaction is important for a successful result.

Since you handle and document tenants' cases in our case and property systems, order goods and services, and check invoices, you need to have competence and feel comfortable working at a computer with administration.

If you are multilingual in addition to Swedish and English, that is a plus.

Other Information

The management area Hisingen comprises just over 2,100 apartments. It is geographically somewhat spread out from Backa in the north to Sannegården in the south and consists of houses from different eras, from the late 1800s to completely new builds. The work group consists of a total of approx. 20 people in slightly different roles.
