Job Responsibilities

The primary assignment is within cardiology, diabetes, to some extent other endocrinology, as well as internal medicine issues.

We also have a day medicine section where treatments are administered as prescribed by the physicians at the medical clinic. Treatments are also provided on behalf of clinics in Västerås. We are part of the project "Cancer Care in Primary Care," which means we currently receive patients from oncologists for supportive treatment. This autumn, we will start immunotherapy and antibody treatments on behalf of the oncologist in Västerås.

As a nurse with us, you will have a role in what we call the general side.

There, you will work together with five other nurses, covering telephone advice, 1177, the inbox in Cosmic, day medicine, the emergency team, etc.

We have a distribution of tasks that is clear when the new week starts. It is you nurses who are responsible for how the distribution looks.

About the Workplace

Our mission is to provide specialized care within cardiology, diabetes, and some endocrinology. The care is team-based, which means close collaboration between nurses, doctors, and assistant nurses. Health professionals such as physiotherapists, counselors, and dietitians also work in the teams.

In addition, we have a nurse-led stroke clinic. Collaboration regarding stroke patients mainly takes place with the rehabilitation unit.

Nurses are responsible, in addition to their own clinic, for telephone advice, 1177, and the nurses' own inbox in Cosmic.

Some of the nurses are responsible for the handling of NOACs and Waran.

We have two diabetes nurses who, in addition to working with patients with type 1 diabetes, also serve as a consultative support for AH, NVT, Ward 1, municipal care, Salberga Prison, and forensic psychiatry.

We collaborate with our two mobile teams, AH and NVT (near-care team), with municipal home care (located on the same floor as our own units), and with Ward 1 at Sala Hospital.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse, preferably with experience in the profession. If you have previous experience working in a similar operation, it is an advantage. We expect you to have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Other language skills are an advantage. 

As a person, you are secure, stable, and have good self-awareness. Since the work can change quickly in various ways, you need to be flexible and have the ability to maintain your calm and focus despite new circumstances. You are good at structuring your own work and taking responsibility for your tasks. We work in teams and see collaboration and clarity as important for success. Since we work closely with both patients and relatives, the ability to have an empathetic approach is important.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Terms of Employment

Permanent position, daytime hours, with an employment rate of 80%.
