Do you want to use your accounting expertise and contribute to something bigger? At the Swedish Pension Agency, you become part of a socially important operation where your work has an impact on millions of people. We are now looking for you who want to make a difference – for real.

About the job

As an Accounting Specialist with us, you will become part of the Finance and Business Control Unit – a central support function tasked with creating business-oriented and value-creating financial control.

You will belong to the Accounting, Payments and System Support group, which consists of experts with high competence and significant responsibility for accounting, annual accounts, payments, and economic IT support. We are in the middle of one of our most exciting projects to date – the implementation of a new financial system – where you, together with the rest of the group, will be involved in the rollout.

Your main areas of responsibility include:

  • Consolidating the agency's periodic annual accounts and Hermes reporting together with the State Service Center, which handles the agency's annual accounts and accounting.
  • Participating in the annual reporting work regarding the financial part of the annual report.
  • Support in questions and investigations concerning government accounting and associated regulations.
  • Participation in the implementation of our new financial system, Raindance.

The Swedish Pension Agency's accounting covers both government accounting and accounting for insurance companies regarding the premium pension activity, which provides a unique combination of regulations for the agency to adhere to. By appointing an additional Accounting Specialist within government accounting, we increase the agency's ability to ensure regulatory compliance and correct accounting handling during and after the implementation of Raindance.

You are part of an experienced and helpful team that works closely together and with other parts of the organization. We collaborate cross-functionally and have a culture characterized by openness, learning, and responsibility. You report to the head of the Accounting, Payments and System Support group, who is also the agency's accounting manager.

Your profile

We are looking for you who combine deep knowledge of government accounting with a curiosity to fully learn our new financial system. You thrive in a role where you get to analyze, structure, and contribute to the whole.

We are looking for you who have:

  • A relevant academic degree, or alternatively, longer documented experience in finance.
  • Experience from a similar role in accounting.
  • Very good knowledge of government accounting and regulations.
  • Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.

Merits if you also have:

  • Very good experience with and knowledge of the financial systems Agresso or Raindance.
  • Good knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience with Hermes reporting.
  • Previous collaboration with the State Service Center.

To succeed in the role, we see that you:

  • Have several years of experience from qualified financial work within government operations, preferably in a role as accounting manager, qualified accounting economist, or a similar position.
  • Are structured, meticulous, and analytical.
  • Have a good holistic view and the ability to translate regulations into practical work.
  • Are communicative, team-oriented, and confident in your professional role.

We offer

A government assignment that is truly important! A workplace where we value that our employees have a good balance between work and leisure. We offer flexible working hours and the possibility to work partially from home. As a state employee, you also have good employment conditions and a benefits package with wellness programs, extra days off, and good holiday and pension conditions. We are located in bright and pleasant premises centrally at Hornstull on Södermalm in Stockholm.

Your application

We work competency-based throughout the process and are keen on an inclusive, fair, objective, and candidate-friendly process. Therefore, we ask you to answer a number of selection questions instead of submitting a cover letter.

In connection with the recruitment process, we have taken a stance on advertising channels and marketing. We therefore decline further contact with media/advertising sales, recruitment sites, and similar.

The Swedish Pension Agency is responsible for the public pension and informs about the entire pension. Every year, we pay out approximately 415 billion SEK to 2.3 million pensioners, carry out approximately 911,000 fund exchanges, and send out 8 million orange envelopes. We have approximately 25 million digital customer contacts per year. We have approximately 1,700 employees at eight locations, from Luleå in the north to Halmstad in the south.
