Organization Description:

Dormsjöskolan is a residential care home (HVB) for boys aged 7 to 23.

We are located in Southern Dalarna, just north of Hedemora, and operate our own free school. Here, children and young people live in five beautifully situated houses, near a lovely swimming lake and exciting forests. The environment offers opportunities for fun activities and quiet moments, along with supportive adults to lean on.

Target Group:

Boys with neuropsychiatric disabilities as well as social and emotional challenges.

We have a license for 28 boys, with placements supported by the Social Services Act (SoL), the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU), and the Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments (LSS).

Job Description:

The foundation of our approach is to create predictability and routines in a structured environment by providing a clear, recurring structure to the day, week, and year.

We assess the abilities and difficulties of the children and young people. This assessment, along with the care plan, forms the basis for an implementation plan tailored to the individual child's or young person's needs.

The work primarily involves therapeutic and motivational work. Personal care is also a part of the duties.

The goal is to help the children and young people achieve an independent life with successful schooling.

The therapeutic work is individualized based on each child's or young person's needs and conditions.

We use methods such as social skills training, anger management, low-affective interaction, comic strip conversations, social stories, and visual aids.

We are looking for someone who is:

Creative, enjoys physical activity, is passionate about working with children and young people with special needs, and is skilled at building trusting and positive relationships.

The role requires you to be secure, solution-focused, stress-resistant, and patient.

Education:

A degree as a Social Treatment Pedagogue or other equivalent education is preferred.

Other:

A certificate of conduct (extract from the criminal record and suspicion register) is required upon employment.
