Who are we?
The HR Department belongs to the Municipal Director's office and has the overarching mandate to implement the municipality's personnel policy. By guiding, supporting, and steering within the HR field, we aim to create good conditions for managers and employees. We work in close collaboration with operations to ensure that Norrköping Municipality is an attractive employer for current and future employees.
The HR Department is organized into four units: Competence Supply Unit, Negotiation Unit, HR Unit, and Payroll Unit.
The primary task of the Payroll Unit is to ensure that correct salaries are paid out on time to the right employees. We are a central support for managers and payroll reporters within the municipality and municipal companies, covering both payroll administration and pensions. The management and development of the payroll system Heroma are also part of our mandate.
Through trust-based leadership and steering, responsibilities are delegated, and you as an employee are invited to dialogue and participation. For us, it is important to utilize your knowledge and your ability to develop.
The Payroll Unit consists of about 20 payroll consultants, payroll specialists, and systems specialists located centrally at Slottsgatan 118 in Norrköping, close to the central station. We are now looking for two systems specialists who, together with our team, want to contribute to high-quality system support in our payroll system.
Your responsibilities
As a Payroll Systems Specialist, you have a large and important role. Together with your team, you work to ensure that our payroll system, Heroma, is user-friendly for all managers and reporters in the municipality. The role involves both operational and strategic tasks.
The basic task includes administrative work with payroll runs and payroll tools, where the main objective is to deliver correct salaries on time. You work closely with Norrköping Municipality's operations and provide competent support in the payroll system. Furthermore, you work with training initiatives and contribute to improvement and development work.
You act as a link between payroll handlers, negotiators, system suppliers, operations staff, and our users. You collaborate closely with other units in the municipality and cooperate with other systems specialists in other municipalities and regions.
You work on managing and developing the payroll system by creating efficient, automated, and improved methods and processes. Writing SQL queries to extract data from the system is also part of the role.
Here, we work in a team-based manner; we have a flat hierarchy and support each other in daily work, focusing on service and smart solutions. You contribute ideas, knowledge, and experience, and see opportunities for improvement in developing work methods and systems. Due to our development journey, there are good opportunities to influence the role and the assignment.
Who are you?
You have a post-secondary education in payroll or systems, or alternatively, other education or several years of experience considered equivalent. You have experience with payroll systems and knowledge of payroll processes. It is meritorious if you have experience in technical work in digital systems, preferably in a larger organization.
As a person, you are development-oriented, see opportunities instead of problems, and handle tasks independently. You have a flexible approach and can easily adapt to new situations and ways of working.
Furthermore, you are team-oriented and see it as natural to share experiences, knowledge, and information with colleagues. Based on your role, you understand how important collaboration is even across boundaries, where you establish and maintain good relationships with other employees and managers in the organization as well as external contacts.
You work customer-focused, define needs, and ensure you maintain a good and professional dialogue with those you support. You are structured and plan your work based on set goals and have the ability to prioritize and organize among tasks based on urgency and significance.
You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both in speech and writing.
