Description
As a special education teacher at the Adapted Primary School in Ljusdal Municipality, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the students' lives and learning. We are looking for you who are passionate about working with students with intellectual disabilities and who want to contribute to their individual development and future opportunities. You will become a central part of our dedicated team where collaboration, competence development, and a student-focused approach are at the center.
Your assignment involves supporting and challenging the students in their learning, together with colleagues in working and subject teams, based on clear goals and adapted methods. You plan, implement, and continuously evaluate the teaching with high quality and precision, always with the student's best interest in focus. You also actively contribute to the school's development work, where specially prioritized areas are constantly refined to meet both the students' and society's demands and needs.
Digital competence is an important part of our pedagogical work, and you are expected to have a good ability to integrate digital learning tools and aids to create engaging and accessible learning environments. Another important part of your work is to make and follow up on extra adaptations, as well as to ensure that every student receives the individual support they need to reach their goals.
Responsibilities
As a special education teacher, you have the main responsibility for teaching in various subject areas in the adapted primary school, where you are the class teacher for a group of students. You lead and develop the pedagogical work at both individual and group levels and are responsible for creating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment. Your role also includes close collaboration with colleagues, student health services, guardians, and external partners to ensure a holistic and well-coordinated student health and education.
You initiate and participate in development projects and team work aimed at ensuring quality and improving the school's pedagogical processes and methods. Documentation and follow-up of students' development and results are an important part of your responsibility, as well as participating in various meetings and training to continuously develop your competence and the school's operations.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed teacher with eligibility to teach in subject areas within adapted primary school and who have a special education degree with a focus on intellectual disabilities.
Meritorious: good knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) to effectively support students with communication difficulties.
In addition, we value that you are engaged, clear, and have high social competence with the ability to build trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians. You are flexible and have an analytical ability to adapt teaching based on individual needs and prerequisites. Furthermore, we would like you to be proactive in pedagogical development work and have an interest in using and developing digital tools in teaching.
