The Education Administration in Stockholm City is Sweden's largest municipal administration with approximately 16,000 employees.

We are now looking for a qualified compensation case officer for the central compensation function with a focus on the home municipality's responsibility. The work covers overarching issues related to grants, compensation, follow-up, and authority exercises.

The Unit for Compensation and School Compulsion is part of the Department of Economy and Control. Here, over 30 employees work with a focus on secure handling and development of processes.

Your role

As a compensation case officer, you play a central role in ensuring that the city's responsibility as a home municipality is handled correctly, securely, and transparently.

You work with grant and compensation processes within the education sector from an overarching perspective and are responsible for:

  • Case management, calculating compensation and grants to other principal entities
  • Reviewing, controlling, quality assuring, and compiling materials
  • Ensuring that calculations follow current laws, regulations, and guidelines
  • Monitoring economic flows and analyzing results
  • Producing statistics, analyses, and decision support materials
  • Collaborating with internal and external actors
  • Contributing to the development, efficiency, and digitalization of working methods

The work involves recurring processes with fixed monthly deadlines and requires that you can handle large amounts of data, regulations, and combine economic and legal perspectives.

Your competence and experience

We are looking for someone who is:

Qualifications – requirements

  • University education in economics, public administration, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
  • High degree of understanding of legal issues and application of regulations within the school system and public sector
  • Experience in compensation handling, investigative work, or similar assignments
  • Several years of experience working with large amounts of data and analysis, as well as working in several administrative systems
  • Very good understanding of economic flows and follow-up
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing

Meritorious

  • Experience in authority exercises
  • Several years of experience working in public operations or politically directed organizations
  • Experience in process development and implementation of routines
  • Experience in case management

Other

To succeed in the role, we see that you express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing, have the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with different administrative work processes and IT systems, work in a structured and solution-focused manner, and have an aptitude for handling complex issues.
