Are you a psychologist and want to make a positive difference for children and young people aged 0–18 with disabilities? Then you might be our new colleague! We are now looking for a PTP-psychologist for the pediatric team at the Rehabilitation Center in Karlskrona.

About Us

The Rehabilitation Center offers interventions to individuals with congenital or early-acquired disabilities, such as intellectual disability, autism, and extensive motor impairments.

We provide health-promoting and therapeutic interventions based on each individual's needs and conditions. Our goal is for patients to maintain and develop their functional capacity, create conditions for good health, and have the opportunity to actively participate in society.

The Rehabilitation Center is represented by one department in Karlshamn and one in Karlskrona, but we view ourselves as a single unit and have close collaboration across the county. We have approximately 50 employees, of whom 7 are psychologists.

About the Job

We offer meaningful work with complex and developmental patient cases. We work in interdisciplinary teams, and you will work both independently and together with competent professional and team colleagues. You will have the opportunity to work from a life perspective and serve as a support for our patients and their networks.

The daily work is varied. Tasks include assessment, mapping, and interventions for the patient and their network based on individually set goals. Work with patients and/or networks takes place both individually, in groups, and through courses/educations.

As a PTP-psychologist in our operations, you will receive a thorough introduction and professional supervision from an experienced colleague. You will also be part of Region Blekinge's popular PTP program, which consists of regular meetings with other active PTP-psychologists and study visits to various operations where psychological work is performed. We also offer team supervision, regular professional meetings, wellness benefits, and free access to the gym.

The work primarily takes place within the Rehabilitation Center's facilities, but may also occur in the patient's immediate environment as needed.

About You

You, the applicant, have completed a degree in psychology and have a commitment and interest in working with the Rehabilitation Center's target group. Since you will work in a team with other professions at the clinic, teamwork skills and flexibility are prerequisites. To thrive and succeed in the job with us, you need to be unpretentious, both in taking in knowledge and experiences, and in sharing your knowledge and experiences with colleagues.

As a PTP-psychologist, you are expected to participate in the regular work at the clinic, but responsibilities and work pace are adjusted based on where you are in your PTP year. Experience working with patients belonging to the Rehabilitation Center's target groups is meritorious.

Applicants considered for employment must provide an extract from the Swedish Police Authority's criminal record register prior to employment. Region Blekinge mobilizes all permanent staff for wartime service. Some of our positions are security-classified, requiring the employee to undergo a security screening interview and register check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585). Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
