At Björkbergs School, more than 220 students meet every day, from preschool class up to year 6. Approximately 120 students participate in the after-school activities. We are a multicultural school with a dynamic atmosphere where our differences create our greatest opportunities.

We work actively to create a safe, inclusive, and developmental learning environment for all students. An important part of this is our work with IBIS (Inclusive Behavior in School), which permeates our approach and strengthens our strive for a school where all students are given the opportunity to succeed based on their prerequisites.

To meet the students' different needs, we strive to have two educators in each classroom. This creates good opportunities to provide support, challenge, and be close to the students in both learning and social situations during the school day.

We see the whole day as important for the students' development. Therefore, we also work actively with break activities to create safe, stimulating, and meaningful breaks, where play, community, and movement are in focus. At the after-school center, we offer a meaningful time where students get the opportunity to develop their interests, strengthen social relationships, and feel involved in a safe activity.

Job Description

The position is a temporary substitute role in year 4 at 100% during the autumn term of 2026.

As a teacher at Björkbergs School, you are part of a team of teachers and teacher assistants/after-school pedagogues.

You are responsible for planning, follow-up, and evaluation of the educational activities based on the curriculum in the subjects you teach.

You work with pedagogical documentation, reflection, and participate in systematic quality work.

Your Profile

You are a certified teacher. Experience is meritorious but not a requirement. You are familiar with the curriculum and confident in your role and the tasks included in the assignment. You are social, driven, and willing to participate in larger and smaller teams in constant change and development. Together with other colleagues, you take a joint overall responsibility for the operations and contribute to well-being and cohesion. You work strategically and structured to achieve high goal fulfillment, safety, and study peace.

What is important is that as a person you have a good attitude, a good ability to plan, and the courage to ask when needed. You have good cooperation skills and an interest in working together in teams with different professional categories. Your approach is relational, and focused on working health-promoting and preventive. You are flexible, receptive, and have an easy time creating trust and good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

About the Department

We teach children to read, calculate, and discover the world. Here we follow our youngest municipal residents from preschool until they graduate from high school. Through our adult education, one can learn Swedish as a second language, read individual courses, or take a longer education. With joy, commitment, involvement, and on a scientific basis, we want to increase knowledge, creativity, development, and the desire to learn.
