Negotiator/HR Specialist in Labour Law at Region Uppsala

To the HR Department, part of Region Uppsala's Executive Office, we are now looking for an experienced negotiator/HR specialist with in-depth knowledge of labour law and extensive experience in representing the employer in dispute negotiations and handling complex labour law issues. The department is responsible for the overall strategic HR work in Region Uppsala. The role involves developing and providing high-quality, operationally relevant HR support, based on the employer policy strategy and taking into account operational needs and legal prerequisites.

The position is located within the HR Law and Agreements function, where tasks related to labour law, negotiation, wage formation, wage review, union cooperation, and working hours are coordinated. The unit serves as an expert function tasked with providing advisory support in labour law matters, assisting operations in labour law disputes, developing and conducting training, participating in and leading projects, contributing to the strategic development of employer issues, monitoring the external environment, and producing documentation on current topics.

We are now looking for you who have a strong interest in employer issues and wish to drive and develop matters concerning labour law and negotiations, in close collaboration with the Negotiation Manager and other negotiators/HR specialists within Law and Agreements. The role includes planning and conducting training within your area of expertise – something you are confident in and motivated to do in an engaging and inspiring manner.

In the role, you will among other things:

  • Provide advisory support to operationally focused HR support functions
  • Assist operations during dispute negotiations
  • Conduct training for managers and HR
  • Lead, participate in, and coordinate projects
  • Monitor the unit's areas of responsibility
  • Develop and update documentation and working materials

The assignments are both strategic and operational. Collaboration with different parts of the HR organization, union partners, and other functions in Region Uppsala is of great importance. To succeed in this role, you need to have a holistic perspective, be confident in yourself and your competence, able to take initiative and drive issues forward independently, but also be good at collaborating with others. You need to be solution-focused, skilled at building good relationships, and have a consultative and pedagogical working approach.

Qualifications

  • Education as a lawyer, HR professional, or other education that the employer deems relevant for the position.
  • Long experience in independently driving and handling labour law cases, as well as very good negotiation skills regarding both labour law disputes and collective agreements.
  • Broad experience in interpreting collective agreements.
  • Pedagogical and solution-focused working approach.
  • Experience in conducting training and transferring knowledge in a pedagogical manner.
  • Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing and to convey complex information in an easily understandable way.
