The position is organizationally placed together with other infection control personnel within the hospital. Within infection control, we work across the entire operation to solve tasks together and have close and good cooperation with colleagues at Universitetssykehuset Nord-Norge HF, other health enterprises in Helse Nord, and the municipal health and care services in Finnmark.

In our unit, we focus heavily on:

  • Actively contributing to the continuous work to improve patient safety, quality, and working environment within infection control at Finnmarkssykehuset
  • Building good relationships and ensuring good cooperation within the health and care services in Finnmark

We are looking for you who enjoy working outwardly and taking initiative.

Start date: According to agreement.

Job Responsibilities

The duties are based on the Infection Control Regulations, the Tuberculosis Regulations, and the regional infection control plan with a tuberculosis control program for Helse Nord:

  • Infection prevention work and infection surveillance
  • Maintenance of infection control programs through risk assessment and local adaptation
  • Development and implementation of infection control routines at Finnmarkssykehuset
  • Contribute to good patient flows between specialist care and municipal care
  • Management of outbreaks and contact tracing both internally and together with municipal care
  • Contribute to maintaining tuberculosis control within specialist care and municipalities
  • Individual follow-up of patients treated with tuberculosis medication
  • Mentoring and counseling for doctors and nurses in the municipalities regarding tuberculosis treatment

Qualifications

Formal Requirements

  • Norwegian license as a nurse
  • Clinical experience from somatic specialist care, at least 2 years
  • Good knowledge of Norwegian, both written and oral (foreign workers must have passed a Norwegian course at level B2 or higher)

Desirable Qualifications

  • Further education/master's degree in nursing
  • Experience in teaching
  • Good computer skills

For all positions at Finnmarkssykehuset, it is an advantage if the applicant speaks Sami and has knowledge of Sami culture.
