Job Responsibilities

As a Project Economist with us, you will be responsible for the economic handling of research projects and support researchers/project leaders throughout the entire project cycle, from application to completed projects, focusing on economic-administrative tasks. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the school's researchers/project leaders. The Project Economist also supports one or more department heads in matters concerning economic management. The work includes tasks such as:

• Advice and support in cost estimation prior to applications
• Project budgeting after approved applications
• Account closing and follow-up of revenues and costs within grant projects
• Financial reporting to funders
• Communication with funders and potentially participating partners to ensure compliance with economic and administrative requirements
• Work with budget and forecast for one or more departments
• Other administrative tasks may also occur

Qualifications

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in the field of economics or working life experience that the employer deems equivalent
• Experience working with accounting and follow-up
• Communicative ability and the ability to explain economic concepts in an understandable way
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written – both languages are required in daily work as we operate in an international environment
• Good knowledge of the Office suite
• Experience working in economic systems (e.g., Agresso, SAP, or similar)

To succeed in the role of economist, you need to be independent, structured, quality-conscious, and service-oriented. Additionally, you need to have pedagogical insight and thrive in an environment with many contact points and varied tasks.
