We are looking for part-time firefighters for the Sorsele station
Do you want to join our team and be part of a vital and valuable safety net for the citizens of Sorsele Municipality?
The Rescue Service in Sorsele Municipality consists of stations in Sorsele and Ammarnäs, as well as a rescue corps in Gargnäs. In Sorsele, we have five personnel on standby, divided into four groups. In Ammarnäs, there are two personnel divided into four groups, and the Gargnäs corps includes ten people.
We serve a population of approximately 2,500 residents within our operational area. The Sorsele Rescue Service collaborates with ten inland municipalities, known as RSR10.
Job Responsibilities
We are looking for you who, alongside your regular job, want to make an important societal contribution. Being a part-time firefighter means you have a primary employment with another employer and work as a firefighter on a part-time basis. With us, you will primarily join a pool and cover shifts during absences, and eventually participate in standby duties every fourth week. The role also includes participating in exercises and training organized by us, which are mainly scheduled in the evenings.
The employment includes two weeks of basic training, during which compensation is paid according to the agreement. This is followed by additional advanced training. You will receive salary during the training periods required to achieve the necessary competence. These trainings can be local within the rescue service or part of the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency's (MSB) central training system. It is important that your primary employer is informed about the need for additional training.
Your Qualities
The work may involve high-tempo shifts and demanding physical effort, so we are looking for someone who is self-assured and a good team player. You have a positive attitude and value openness, respect, and responsibility. You are mentally strong, stable, enduring, humble, reliable, and in good physical condition. Personal suitability is highly valued.
Competence and Qualifications
- Residence and workplace within the response time limit (7 minutes).
- Primary employer must approve the part-time firefighter employment.
- Pass physical requirements through tests and medical examination.
- Ability to pass a roller belt test (offered via the rescue service).
- Swimming skills.
- Category B driver's license.
- Good knowledge of the Swedish language.
It is an advantage if you have some form of fire training, a Category C driver's license for heavy trucks, or previous experience working in the rescue service.
Terms of Employment
Part-time. Permanent position. Start date: Recruitment is ongoing.
Salary
Salary according to the RIB agreement.
Other Information
Those hired who do not have a Category C driver's license will be offered a fixed-term employment for nine months, during which they have the opportunity to obtain their C-license. The Rescue Service will partially cover the costs for the C-license.
Employment starts in the pool. After training and based on needs, you will later join a specific group.
Part-time with standby duty every fourth week.
