We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware Developer to join our collaborative team. In this role, you will work closely with our Mechanical and Electrical teams, supporting hardware bring-ups, validating designs, and delivering robust embedded firmware for our products. Your future team
Our Access Control team consists of motivated and humble engineers who thrive in a dynamic, agile environment. The team focuses on developing firmware for a range of access control products, supporting access control management software that configures, monitors, and controls our smart and secure systems. You will have the chance to work on innovative, cutting-edge products that enhance video solutions, delivering top-notch services to our customers.
As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting new hardware and feature development for Axis' access control solutions, enhancing the product for our partners and customers worldwide.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware for our hardware platforms.
- Participate in board bring-up activities, including validating prototypes and troubleshooting hardware/firmware interactions.
- Work closely with Mechanical and Electrical engineers to refine system behavior, interfaces, and performance.
- Assist in defining hardware/firmware requirements, test procedures, and documentation.
- Participate in design reviews for schematics, layouts, and embedded architecture.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of development workflows, tooling, and quality processes.
Requirements:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Solid experience in embedded C.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers, SoCs, or RTOS environments.
- Good understanding of schematics, datasheets, and basic hardware debugging tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, multimeter, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work cross-functionally with hardware teams.
- Excellent communication skills in English and/or Swedish.
